Bayer Foundation Women Entrepreneurs Award 2025

The Bayer Foundation, in partnership with Impact Hub Network, has officially launched the application process for the 2025 Women Entrepreneurs Award. This initiative aims to empower 15 innovative women entrepreneurs with a grant of €25,000 each, coupled with essential support aimed at overcoming challenges related to health and food security solutions.

Celebrating Women Innovators

Women have consistently been at the forefront of driving transformative change through innovative solutions that address pressing global challenges. Their diverse perspectives, creativity, and dedication to social impact enable them to develop sustainable and scalable business models. This award is designed to elevate their efforts, facilitating the growth of impactful social enterprises and connecting them with networks that foster transformative change.

In 2024, prominent winners highlighted the diversity of solutions contributed by women entrepreneurs:
  • - Joan Nalubega (Uganda) developed innovative mosquito repellents integrated into everyday products like soap and lotion, significantly reducing malaria cases by 88% among users in their households.
  • - Valentina Rios (Colombia) revolutionized pediatric care with a 24/7 WhatsApp service that resolved over 9 million consultations across 28 countries, decreasing emergency room visits by 92% and enhancing healthcare access for underserved families.
  • - Athalia Mutiara Laksmi (Indonesia) bridged communication gaps between hearing and deaf communities using a 3D animation translator, which has educated and connected over 160,000 individuals.

Application Process

Interested candidates are encouraged to apply, as the application period is now open, with the deadline set for February 18, 2025. The award not only provides financial support but is also a stepping stone for women entrepreneurs looking to scale their enterprises and extend their impact.

“Through this alliance, we offer tailored support to meet the needs of women business owners. We also promote collaboration to amplify change in health and food security,” stated Petr Skvaril, Director of Global Partnerships at Impact Hub Network. “The synergy of our expertise and networks fosters a robust platform to implement solutions addressing the world’s most urgent challenges.”
