PTC Joins Forces with UTokyo for Long-term Internship Program to Drive Innovation

PTC's New Collaboration with UTokyo College of Design

PTC Japan, headquartered in Shinjuku, Tokyo, has officially announced its participation as a collaborative company in the Long-term Internship program introduced by the UTokyo College of Design, which is set to open in 2027. This initiative opens avenues for students to gain practical work experience of approximately six months in domestic and international companies as well as international organizations. The program not only empowers students to apply their academic knowledge in real-world scenarios but also offers them the opportunity to discover social challenges and learn creative approaches to problem-solving.

The Long-term Internship is designed to push students out of the traditional classroom setting and into the heart of companies and organizations where they can engage in hands-on, problem-solving experiences. Through collaboration with professionals, students are expected to develop essential skills such as problem discovery, creativity, leadership, and practical communication abilities.

PTC has consistently provided various internship opportunities worldwide, supporting students in shaping their careers. Participation in this program further underscores PTC's commitment to nurturing young digital talent in Japan. PTC Japan’s President and CEO, Tomonobu Kamiya, shared, "We are thrilled to collaborate with the talented students from the UTokyo College of Design to co-create the future of the manufacturing and industrial sectors. PTC will leverage its cutting-edge digital technology and practical knowledge developed globally to strongly support students as they tackle real-world challenges."

Through this collaboration, PTC plans to provide extensive support to students participating in this program, which includes:

  • - Internship opportunities at PTC’s headquarters in the U.S. and domestic branches in Japan.
  • - Opportunities for collaboration with global teams.
  • - Access to the latest tools and educational resources, such as Onshape.

These initiatives aim to not only provide practical support for students' career development but also contribute to enhancing Japan’s industrial innovation capacity.
