Huyett's New Sales Approach
Huyett, a notable player in the industrial distribution sector, is excited to announce a significant shift in its sales strategy under the newly appointed Vice President of Sales, Dewey Oxner. As of April 2026, this restructuring is designed to bolster the effectiveness of Huyett's Distribution Support Team and better serve its distribution partners.
Introduction of New Structure
The company is redefining its North American territory by establishing three distinct districts: East, South, and Central. This initiative aims to foster closer relationships between sales leadership, customers, and distribution partners. By doing so, Huyett seeks to enhance its understanding of customer challenges and collaborative efforts to unlock new business opportunities.
As Dewey Oxner puts it, "I'm excited to continue growing with Huyett and to lead a team that's deeply committed to our customers and our core values. This role provides the opportunity to develop people, strengthen key partnerships, and help position Huyett for long-term success." Oxner’s journey with Huyett began in 2017 when he joined as a Regional Sales Manager and moved up to Director of Sales for the Mid-Atlantic region.
Promotions and New Talent
The restructuring comes with additional promotions within the company. Christian Peterson, previously the Corporate Business Development Director, has been elevated to Director of Sales for the South District. His responsibilities now include territories that span from South Texas into Mexico. Peterson, who joined Huyett in 2021 as a Texas Regional Sales Manager, expressed his gratitude for the mentorship he received, stating, "I am excited for my new role as Director of Sales and look forward to the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead."
Bob MacPherson, who joined the team as a Regional Sales Manager in 2020, has been promoted to Director of Sales for the Central District, overseeing key areas such as the Chicago region, Illinois, and Wisconsin. MacPherson reflected on Huyett’s culture and how it supported his success during his tenure, aiming to provide leadership and guidance in his new advisory role.
In addition to promoting existing talent, Huyett welcomes Bates Huffman as the new Director of Sales for the East District. Beginning in June 2026, Huffman will manage territories including North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee. With strong credentials as a District Manager for MSC Industrial Supply and a degree from the University of South Carolina, Huffman is set to leverage his extensive experience to drive growth and embody Huyett's commitment to excellence.
Commitment to Customer Partnership
The restructuring emphasizes a customer-centric approach that looks to adapt swiftly to market demands and distributor needs. By decentralizing sales leadership and focusing on district-specific challenges, Huyett aims to be present where value creation occurs. This model not only strengthens the connection between Huyett and its distribution partners but also enhances their capability to respond to customers' needs effectively.
Established in 1906, Huyett has a long-standing legacy in the fastener sector, proving itself as a reliable partner in industrial distribution. As it steps into this new chapter with a revamped leadership team and sales strategy, Huyett is poised to maintain its trajectory of growth and customer commitment.
