Welcome the New Year with the MUFG National Shrine Tour!
As we step into the new year, the MUFG National Stadium is inviting everyone to partake in a special event, the “MUFG National Shrine Tour.” This exciting initiative will run for five days: January 3 (Saturday), 4 (Sunday), 5 (Monday), 14 (Wednesday), and 15 (Thursday), 2026.
Organized in collaboration with the renowned Hatonomori Hachimangu Shrine, located near the National Stadium in Sendagaya, Tokyo, this tour offers a blend of cultural and spiritual experiences unlike any other. In addition to the standard stadium tour, participants will have the opportunity to write their wishes on wooden plaques, known as ema, and offer them at the shrine—ensuring a unique connection to their hopes for the New Year.
One of the tour's highlights will be the installation of a torii gate at the players’ entrance to the pitch, creating a ceremonial atmosphere leading to one of Japan's most iconic sports venues. All submitted ema will later be specially blessed and burned in a ceremonial rite at Hatonomori Hachimangu Shrine, continuing the spirit of new beginnings.
