Canton Fair Expands Global Partner Network for Shared Value Creation
Canton Fair Expands Global Partner Network
On October 16, 2026, a significant ceremony took place marking the signing of agreements for the 140th Canton Fair Global Cooperative Partners. The event, which was attended by over 70 distinguished guests, included key speeches from Zhu Yong, the General Manager of the China Foreign Trade Center (CFTC), Eugene Seroka, Executive Director of the Port of Los Angeles, and Ali El Abdallah, President of the Lebanese Chinese Business Association.
Zhu Yong emphasized that the Canton Fair's Global Cooperative Partners program is a reflection of the Prime Minister Li Qiang's vision to embrace economic globalization while responding to the international community's calls for collaborative development. This signing ceremony marks an enhancement in partner networks, more effective matchmaking services, and deeper levels of cooperation.
Eugene Seroka described the newly forged agreement with the Canton Fair as a mutual trust-based renewal, which in turn is expected to stimulate business growth and foster collective progress. The Canton Fair aims to strengthen global partnerships, thereby promoting shared growth between diverse industries.
As part of this initiative, the Canton Fair signed memorandums of understanding with eight organizations. Six of these partnerships are new, including collaborations with the Benelux Chamber of Commerce in China, Joinco, the Palestinian Businessmen Association, the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Polish-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and the Port of Los Angeles, while also renewing ties with two existing partners: the Lebanese Chinese Business Association and the China Information Culture Centre (Kenya).
These newly integrated partners form critical connections, ranging from major North American port gateways to well-established European markets. The new cohort features a diverse array of enterprises in maritime transport, logistics, trade associations, and top-tier sourcing companies.
With this latest session, the Canton Fair has established a total of 240 partner organizations across 112 countries and regions. In a congratulatory letter to the 140th Canton Fair, President Xi Jinping emphasized China's readiness to move forward alongside countries worldwide to advocate for a multilateral trading system while expanding opportunities for international economic and trade cooperation that benefits all parties involved.
In alignment with this spirit, the Canton Fair is set to extend its cooperation beyond mere goods trading, incorporating joint branding strategies, shared market development, and collaborative services.
As a forward-thinking initiative, the Canton Fair represents a significant opportunity for businesses to engage on a global scale and explore new markets, aligning with the trends of modern trade. As the platforms evolve, the focus will increasingly be on generating shared value, ensuring that all partners gain from their cooperative endeavors.
