SI Group Announces Leadership Transition with Marcello Boldrini as New CEO

SI Group Announces Leadership Transition

In a significant leadership change, SI Group has officially announced the appointment of Marcello Boldrini as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This transition took effect on October 19, 2026, marking a new chapter for the company, which is renowned for its development and manufacturing of high-performance additives and chemical process solutions.

Marcello Boldrini succeeds David Bradley, who has been at the helm of SI Group since 2019. Under Bradley's leadership, the company navigated complex market conditions and achieved notable milestones, including a successful recapitalization in 2025, which enhanced its financial standing and operational flexibility.

Daryl Roberts, a member of the SI Group Board of Directors, expressed excitement about Boldrini's appointment. “We are thrilled to welcome Marcello as our next CEO,” Roberts stated. “He brings with him extensive experience in the specialty chemicals industry and a proven track record of driving growth, transformation, and operational improvement.” This sentiment captures the optimism surrounding Boldrini's capabilities as he steps into this critical role.

Boldrini’s background is impressive; he boasts over 30 years of leadership experience within the specialty chemicals and materials industry across diverse regions, including Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Prior to joining SI Group, he served as the CEO and Board Member of Kraton Corporation, another prominent player in the specialty chemicals sector based in Houston. His tenure at Kraton saw the implementation of growth initiatives and the establishment of a Transformation Office that generated significant improvements in the company’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA), exceeding $100 million annually.

Having held executive roles at notable companies such as Houghton International, Momentive/Hexion, and Ashland, Boldrini’s expertise will be vital for SI Group as they continue to reinforce their performance and focus on customer service.

In his statement, Boldrini shared his enthusiasm about joining SI Group, “It is an honor for me to step into the role of CEO and I look forward to working with our employees, customers, and partners.” He outlined a commitment to initially listen and learn, engaging deeply with teams and clients to harness the strengths of SI Group and establish clear priorities for the future.

Safety, reliability of operations, disciplined execution, and creating value for clients will remain the central focus of his leadership approach. Boldrini emphasized a strategic commitment to maintain strong operational performance and adhere to customer commitments, promising that the management team will collaborate closely with him to uphold these principles.

Shawn Abrams, also a board member, took a moment to express gratitude towards Bradley for his dedicated leadership, stating, “In the name of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank David Bradley for his leadership and his numerous contributions to SI Group.” His guidance during tumultuous times in the sector has been invaluable, as demonstrated by the successful strategic moves during his tenure.

To this end, customers, suppliers, and business partners are encouraged to continue their dealings through their established contacts at SI Group as the leadership transition unfolds. This robust continuity aims to ensure that the transition is smooth, and the company remains steadfast in its operations and commitments.
