Geely Launches the EX5 in the UK
On October 24, 2025, Geely Auto officially launched its award-winning all-electric SUV, the Geely EX5, in the United Kingdom. This launch emphasizes Geely's dedication to sustainable mobility and represents a pivotal milestone in the company's intention to become a leading player in the European electric vehicle (EV) market.
With ambitious targets set for the UK market, Geely aims to achieve an annual sales volume of 100,000 vehicles by 2030. This growth is supported by the establishment of a nationwide network of 100 sales and service centers by 2026, coupled with a robust supply chain and maintenance system designed to ensure outstanding service for customers across the country.
Jerry Gan, CEO of Geely Auto Group, highlighted that entering the UK market is crucial for deepening Geely's European strategy and heralds a new chapter in electrifying mobility across Europe. He stated, “We are focused on delivering innovative and sustainable products, while building lasting relationships based on mutual trust with our customers and partners. Geely Auto looks forward to progressing alongside the European market and shaping the future.”
Prior to its entrance into the UK market, Geely Auto was present in 12 European countries, including Poland, Greece, and Croatia. Supported by top-notch research and development centers in both Europe and Asia, along with a strong business presence, Geely plans to penetrate key markets such as Italy, Germany, France, and Spain.
In the next five years, Geely Auto aims to introduce 15 new vehicles customized for European consumers to establish its brand as a key player in Europe through an extensive network of over 1,000 sales outlets. The debut of the EX5 in the UK builds on its impressive global momentum, as the model is already available in 33 countries and has achieved notable success across various markets. For instance, Australia has embraced the EX5 with remarkable enthusiasm, seeing rapid growth since its launch in March 2025. In Brazil, it dominated its segment, securing the top position in sales for two consecutive months following its official launch.
Geely Auto's parent company, Geely Holding Group, has been firmly rooted in the UK for nearly two decades, beginning its presence in 2006 with an investment and partnership with the London Taxi Company, which was later transformed into LEVC under Geely’s ownership, continuing to produce the award-winning and emissions-free taxi vehicle.
Since then, Geely Holding has expanded its presence through strategic investments in iconic UK brands such as Lotus and Aston Martin, driving innovations in electrification and luxury mobility. As Geely Auto continues to make strides in the UK, it reinforces its commitment to delivering superior products and services while also contributing to the sustainable development of the automotive industry.
