Singlewire Software Introduces Hall Manager to Enhance Student Safety and Classroom Efficiency

Singlewire Software Introduces Hall Manager

Singlewire Software, a leader in safety and communication solutions, has officially launched Hall Manager, an innovative feature integrated into their Visitor Aware platform designed specifically for K-12 educational institutions. This new digital hall pass system aims to streamline the process of excusing students from class, providing valuable oversight and safety measures for teachers and administrators.

The contemporary issues surrounding the traditional hall pass procedures often involve disruptions in classroom instruction and a lack of accountability regarding student whereabouts. Joanna Haugland, Chief Product Officer at Visitor Aware, pointed out that the existing methods are outdated and can lead to confusion and inefficiency in monitoring students.

"The current hall pass process is disruptive to classroom instruction and provides little to no insight into where students are," Haugland remarked. "Hall Manager offers a modern solution for schools to automate the hall pass process while providing valuable insights, such as missed instructional time, and the ability to track where students are permitted to go and for how long."

Features of Hall Manager

Hall Manager provides schools with three flexible options for excusing students:
1. Personal Device Requests: Students can submit requests to be excused directly from their smartphones or tablets, which are automatically approved, allowing them to leave class without hassle.
2. Dedicated Classroom Devices: Schools can equip classrooms with devices like iPads or Chromebooks where students can request digital hall passes.
3. Teacher Portal Permissions: Teachers have the option to grant permission through their administrative portal, providing them control over student movements.

Each granted hall pass records crucial details including where the student is allowed to go and the duration of the excusal. This system ensures that students can only leave at staggered intervals, minimizing disruption in the hallways and maintaining a safe environment.

"Student safety is dependent on school staff being able to account for each student," stated Terry Swanson, President and CEO of Singlewire Software. "By implementing Hall Manager, schools are eliminating another potential blind spot, ensuring they know where every student is at all times."

This release is part of Singlewire's continued commitment to enhancing the safety and operational efficiency of educational institutions. The Hall Manager feature adds to the existing suite of Visitor Aware tools, which include functionalities for visitor management, safety drills, school dismissal processes, and even school bus management. This comprehensive integration seeks to empower schools to operate more effectively, focusing on educational delivery while ensuring student safety.
