Kanko and Lion Collaborate for Second Home Washing Campaign for School Uniforms

Kanko and Lion's Campaign to Promote Washing School Uniforms at Home

Kanko Gakuseifuku Co., Ltd., based in Okayama, has announced the commencement of the second phase of the "Wash Your Uniforms at Home" campaign in collaboration with Lion Corporation, headquartered in Tokyo. Starting from June 16, 2025, this initiative aims to alleviate the concerns surrounding the home washing of school uniforms.

Understanding the Need for Home Washing

As June arrives, many students transition their wardrobes from winter to summer uniforms. Before storing them away, proper care through washing and cleaning is imperative. With the onset of warmer days, the frequency of washing summer clothes inevitably increases.

In recent years, there has been a significant demand for "home-washable uniforms". However, many parents express concerns about potential issues such as the shape and wrinkles of the uniforms post-wash. Furthermore, parents often face challenges in timing their visits to laundromats, especially without spare uniforms.

To address these anxieties surrounding home washing of uniforms, Kanko and Lion aim to make the process smoother and more effective, encouraging more parents to embrace the concept of washing at home. It is crucial to consult the care labels before washing, as home washing may not be an option for every garment.

Recap of Previous Campaign

In the initial phase, the partnership between Kanko and Lion guided new students on the correct washing techniques for their uniforms. Customers purchasing uniforms at Kanko shops were gifted with Lion’s elegant clothing detergent "Acron Smart Care" and a special guide titled "Washing Magic Book".

Thanks to the positive response, the second phase will feature the upgraded "Acron Yasashisa Premium" detergent, poised to be a valuable addition to the families partaking in this campaign.

Ongoing Collaboration for Student Empowerment

Kanko and Lion have collaborated since 2016, focusing on nurturing students' independence and promoting the idea of home washing uniforms. Initiatives include educational seminars for Kanko staff about laundry practices and practical laundry lessons for students where they learn essential skills like removing stains and understanding care labels.
