Aon Client Treaty Expands Co-insurance Capacity to 35% for 2027
Aon Client Treaty Updates Co-insurance Capacity for 2027
Aon plc, a prominent player in global professional services, recently unveiled an expansion of its Aon Client Treaty (ACT), increasing the co-insurance capacity for eligible businesses to 35% beginning January 1, 2027. This enhancement marks an increase from the previous 28.5% for 2026, indicating the firm’s commitment to adapting to evolving market needs and client demands.
The Aon Client Treaty is specifically designed for businesses that are processed through Aon’s Global Broking Centre, along with facultative reinsurance operations managed by Aon's Reinsurance Solutions. This expansion is notably significant as it aligns with the growing complexity and interconnectedness of risks clients face today.
According to Joe Peiser, CEO of Aon's Risk Capital, the enhancement allows for increased efficiency and confidence when clients place their insurance risks. He emphasized that as risks continue to evolve, having reliable access to risk capital becomes crucial in navigating these challenges.
Moreover, the ACT Client Dividend of 1.5% will now be applicable on a larger portion under the new arrangement. This shift is expected to provide better financial returns for clients opting to leverage the treaty, enhancing their overall experience.
The support from market partners has been robust, mirroring a rising demand from clients who require dependable and committed capacity for their insurance needs. This is particularly valid for facultative reinsurance programs that have gained considerable traction since late 2025. Aon is now able to provide this committed capacity for a larger portion of each placement, making the Aon Client Treaty a pivotal tool in a client's risk management strategy.
Leading the facility is QBE Insurance, supported by reputable Lloyd's syndicates, which are graded AA- by S&P Global Ratings and A+ by AM Best. Clients utilizing the ACT will benefit from accessing its capacity under the same terms and pricing as the lead placement, thereby enjoying a streamlined process.
Helene Madell, CEO of Aon’s Global Broking Centre, noted that the growth of facultative reinsurance within the treaty has been rapid and that the move to 35% highlights Aon’s dedication to meeting client needs effectively.
Since its inception in 2016, the Aon Client Treaty has facilitated over $5 billion in gross written premium, solidifying its role as an essential instrument in Aon's service offerings. It forms part of a larger suite of innovative broking solutions, including Aon Digital Placement Exchange, Aon Broker Copilot, and Aon Claims Copilot. These tools are engineered to enhance the efficacy of insurance placements and claims management, ultimately improving the client experience.
Aon plc remains resolute in its mission to shape decisions for a better future through actionable insights and tailored solutions that meet clients' specific challenges. They aim to provide clarity and confidence essential for making informed risk and people decisions, which in turn safeguard and promote business growth.
