Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra Unveils 2026-27 Concert Season Lineup
The Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, Japan's oldest symphony orchestra, has revealed its highly anticipated concert lineup for the 2026-27 season, commencing in January 2026. With renowned guest conductors and a range of prestigious venues, this season promises to be a memorable experience for audiences.
The orchestra will hold its regular subscription concerts at prominent venues including the Bunkamura Orchard Hall, Suntory Hall, and the Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall. Prior to the general ticket sale, a priority web sale will start on November 22, offering a 10% discount until December 8 for all ticket purchasers.
Star-Studded Guest Conductor Lineup
This season, the orchestra features a lineup of six distinguished conductors, including Honorary Music Director Myung-Whun Chung, Chief Conductor Andrea Battistoni, and Special Guest Conductor Mikhail Pletnev. Renowned violinist Pinchas Zukerman, distinguished conductor Kenichiro Kobayashi, and Sophie Dervaux will also join as guest soloists, with Zukerman and Dervaux performing in both playing and conducting roles.
