New Leadership at Palsystem Yamanashi Nagano
On June 12, 2023, Palsystem Yamanashi Nagano, based in Kofu City, hosted its 34th General Assembly at Bell Classic Kofu. The event saw participation from 221 out of 228 delegates, with a majority either attending in person or submitting their votes through proxy.
The assembly approved all four proposals that were on the agenda, which included reports on business activities, financial status, and the selection of new officers. Significantly, Koji Ozawa was named as the new Executive Director during the board meeting held post-assembly.
Agenda Highlights
The assembly approved the following:

Proposal 1: Approval of the 2024 Business Activity Report, Financial Report, and Surplus Disposition Plan.
2.
Proposal 2: Approval of the 2025 Business and Activity Policy and Budget.
3.
Proposal 3: Selection of officers for the 18th term.
4.
Proposal 4: Approval for officers' retirement benefits and farewell funds.
For 2024, Palsystem Yamanashi Nagano will focus on its theme, "Moving Beyond for a Better Tomorrow, Promoting SDGs through Activities." This initiative resulted in an impressive business performance, reporting a total business volume of 8.23 billion yen, which reflects a growth of 4.5% compared to the previous year. The operational surplus, analogous to the ordinary profit of typical companies, stood at 120 million yen, marking a substantial increase of 24.5% year-on-year. Additionally, the member count rose to 59,836, an increase of 1,426 from the previous year.
As 2025 is the International Year of Cooperatives, the organization aims to amplify cooperatives' value in the local community further.
New Board of Directors
The assembly also saw the election of board members, with 19 directors and 3 auditors being appointed. Post-assembly, the board convened and re-elected Shigeko Fukue as the Chairperson, with Koji Ozawa stepping into the role of Executive Director.
