Discover the Sweet Flavors of Tsumugi
Japanese Cafe Tsumugi is set to sweeten your spring with the arrival of two delectable peach-themed desserts. Starting
April 24, 2025, patrons can enjoy the returning favorite,
Natural Water Shaved Ice with Peach and Shinshu Milk, alongside the brand-new
Kawaribanko Parfait featuring White Peach. Both treats promise to deliver an exquisite taste of seasonal fruit and the essence of traditional Japanese confectionery.
Natural Water Shaved Ice with Peach and Shinshu Milk
This delight, which garnered great popularity last year, remains a must-try item. The shaved ice is crafted from the freshest natural water sourced from the granite-rich areas surrounding the
Central and Southern Alps. It is finely shaved to create a fluffy texture, making for an airy mouthfeel.
The shaved ice is generously topped with two different peach sauces that are blended for a layered flavor experience. The first sauce contains chunks of white peach, while the second is a smooth, creamy sauce made from Shinshu High Country Milk, adding a rich, mellow undertone to the dish. Guests are encouraged to enjoy it with optional toppings such as
Shinshu Milk syrup and colorful ornamental rice flour, known as
Oiri, which is a traditional sweet from western Shikoku.
Kawaribanko Parfait Featuring White Peach
The
Kawaribanko Parfait brings a delightful twist to traditional parfaits by incorporating fresh white peach slices sourced from
Yamagata Prefecture. This dessert celebrates the harmony of textures and flavors, combining the nutty aroma of
Hojicha (roasted green tea) jelly, the tanginess of rare cheesecake mousse, and a scoop of rich vanilla ice cream, perfectly complementing the natural sweetness of the peach.
The
Kawaribanko Parfait is built upon a base of aromatic jelly made from the tea varieties of the famous
Fukuroku Shrine's Tea House, showcasing the cafe's dedication to authentic Japanese culinary experiences.
