In an era where mobile connectivity is paramount, Aditum Connect Inc. has taken a significant leap forward by launching Carrier Connect, a new feature of its Wi-Fi Traverse system designed to enhance mobile connectivity for property owners. This innovative capability allows property owners to provide supplemental indoor mobile connectivity using the same infrastructure that delivers broadband internet access to tenants.
What is Carrier Connect?
Carrier Connect utilizes standards-based Passpoint technology. This technology is integrated into Aditum's Zero Touch AX series routers, which are already competing in the market with the ability to deliver internet service at speeds reaching up to 1 Gbps for both uploads and downloads. The system offers property owners a unique advantage: the option to choose which mobile carriers they wish to activate at their properties, enabling subscribers of those carriers to seamlessly connect to a dedicated Carrier Connect Wi-Fi network without requiring shared passwords or unnecessary interactions with tenants' private networks.
Benefits for Property Owners and Tenants
The introduction of Carrier Connect brings a myriad of benefits, particularly for properties located in areas with weak indoor cellular coverage. It facilitates enhanced connectivity without the complexities and costs associated with installing traditional distributed antenna systems (DAS). Currently, Carrier Connect supports major mobile carriers, including AT&T, AT&T FirstNet, T-Mobile, and various MVNOs like Mint Mobile and Google Fi. Notably, AT&T FirstNet support grants first responders reliable indoor connectivity through a nationwide public-safety network, significantly improving communication capabilities during emergencies.
Brian Higgins, founder and CEO of Aditum Connect, expressed the company's commitment to empower property owners with purpose-built tools necessary for operating ISPs in multi-tenant environments. "Carrier Connect enhances the existing infrastructure capabilities, while the new intelligence within our Connect portal provides operators with clearer insights into network performance and business metrics," said Higgins.
Enhanced Management with the Connect Portal
Alongside the new Carrier Connect feature, Aditum has upgraded its Connect management platform to offer advanced operational, capacity-planning, and financial intelligence for property-owned ISP networks. New dashboards within the platform offer real-time insights into various aspects requiring attention, ranging from unusual reconnect activity to latency shifts and WAN capacity pressures. Additionally, property owners can utilize the Bandwidth Capacity dashboard to assess dedicated internet access against subscriber numbers, identifying properties that may necessitate fiber upgrades to meet demand during peak times.
The financial intelligence feature available through Aditum’s Direct Tenant Billing service provides visibility into recurring revenues, collections, and subscriber-level financial indicators, helping operators manage their properties more effectively.
Continuous Innovation and Future Plans
Aditum Connect's Carrier Connect is already operational at existing and new properties equipped with Zero Touch AX series routers. Additionally, properties utilizing older Zero Touch AC series routers can adopt Carrier Connect incrementally as they transition to the AX series, ensuring a smooth migration without service interruptions.
Established nearly 12 years ago, Aditum has successfully deployed networks across over 20 states in the U.S., covering many significant metropolitan areas. The launch of Carrier Connect not only signifies Aditum’s commitment to continuous innovation but also highlights its strategic approach to adapt to the evolving technological landscape.
As the demand for robust mobile connectivity continues to rise, Aditum Connect is poised to lead the way, providing property owners the tools necessary to enhance tenant experiences while driving revenue growth. To explore further, visit
