Yamato Mobility & Manufacturing at Japan Mobility Show 2025

Yamato Mobility & Mfg. Inc., based in Kawagoe, Saitama Prefecture, is set to participate in the Japan Mobility Show 2025, happening at Tokyo Big Sight from October 29 to November 9. The company will present their cutting-edge EV Conversion Trucks, enhancing their existing line of 1.5-ton trucks with a new 2-ton model designed to meet a broader spectrum of transportation needs.

Showcase Concept: Building a Future of Eco-Friendly Transport

Japan’s logistics sector faces a dual challenge: achieving greenhouse gas reduction goals while ensuring profitability. Yamato's EV Conversion Truck addresses this dilemma by transforming existing diesel trucks into electric vehicles (EVs), thereby creating a resource-circulating transportation model. By leveraging unique technology, Yamato ensures that high quality and low costs coexist, contributing to Japan's EV promotion efforts.

During the Japan Mobility Show 2025, attendees can witness the actual trucks alongside detailed explanations of the transformative processes involved, offering the logistics industry new alternatives for sustainable transport. This initiative propels the movement towards a greener future from the ground up.

What is an EV Conversion Truck?

The EV Conversion Truck is an innovative vehicle created by removing the engine and transmission from existing diesel trucks and installing an EV motor and battery system. Maintaining the driver’s cab and cargo bed, this transformation replaces the power source with electricity, eliminating CO2 emissions during operation.

Key Features

1. Cost-Effective Implementation
By utilizing existing vehicle frames, the initial investment required is significantly reduced compared to purchasing new EV trucks.
2. Quick and Smooth Integration
Through retrofitting rather than replacement, the conversion achieves electrification in a shorter time frame than new vehicle deliveries.
3. Substantial Running Cost Savings
Transitioning to electric power reduces fuel costs, and eliminates maintenance expenses linked to engine oil changes.
4. Assured Quality Guarantee
The EV conversion components are backed by a warranty equivalent to those for new EVs: up to 5 years or 100,000 km, allowing for worry-free operation.
