BE OPEN Art Celebrates Artistic Achievement in 2025
On January 19, 2026, BE OPEN Art proudly announced the winner of its esteemed title, Artist of the Year for 2025. Founded by Elena Baturina, a group of experts at BE OPEN, the online art gallery emphasizes the importance of young artistic talent in today's world. Over the past six years, the gallery has invited art enthusiasts to vote for their favorite artist among a selection of twenty talents showcased each month. Anastazie Anderson, a Czech-British artist, emerged victorious this year, claiming the title and a prize of €1,000 for her impressive body of work.
Anastazie's artwork captivates with grand canvases that draw inspiration from various visual references, ranging from candid photography to social media imagery and the legacy of modernist painting. Her pieces blur the lines between memory and imagination, authenticity and artifice. Each scene is intensely emotional, striking a balance that leaves the viewer feeling both drawn in and somewhat disoriented. In September, she was voted Artist of the Month, and her subsequent win as Artist of the Year denotes not only personal achievement but also a recognition of her unique voice in the contemporary art space.
Elena Baturina expressed her admiration for Anastazie's work: "Her paintings evoke memories from my childhood with their simplicity and vitality. We're proud to showcase such extraordinary young talent, allowing artists like Anastazie to gain visibility and express their opinions, thus influencing the lives of those who appreciate art."
Alongside Anderson's accolade, BE OPEN also honored Rio Skor, a Montreal-based architectural artist awarded a cash prize of €500. Skor has focused on sculpture as her primary artistic medium, honing her skills in Carrara, Italy, where she studied traditional hand carving techniques involving marble. This recognition highlights the gallery's commitment to promoting diverse artistic practices and nurturing creativity in varied forms.
In addition to acknowledging artistic talents, BE OPEN Art celebrated the contributions of its community. Since the inception of the Community Support Fund in January 2024, the foundation has successfully raised over €3,500. This fund aims to facilitate mutual financial support and to enhance connections between collectors and prominent artists. This December marks the second round of distribution for the fund, which will benefit twelve monthly winners selected throughout the year.
The participants who will receive grants from the Community Support Fund in 2025 include:
