KnitWell Group Launches Sisterhood of Strength Campaign
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, KnitWell Group, a prominent multi-brand retail company, has kicked off its impactful Sisterhood of Strength campaign. This initiative, launched by brands such as Ann Taylor, Chico's, and Lane Bryant, sets an ambitious fundraising goal of $100 million by the year 2030 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
Since its inception in 2005, the collaboration between KnitWell Group and BCRF has resulted in over $80 million raised. Lizanne Kindler, Chief Executive Officer of KnitWell, articulated the organization's bold vision, emphasizing that robust investments in pioneering research will yield improved outcomes for women battling breast cancer. The campaign serves not only as a fundraising effort but as a testament to the unity and compassion within the community, transforming hope into tangible progress.
At the heart of this year's Sisterhood of Strength campaign are powerful narratives from women who have grappled with the challenges of breast cancer. These stories of courage and resilience highlight the strength found in community support during trying times. This year's campaign features inspiring individuals, including TV personality Katie Thurston, who courageously shares her journey with metastatic breast cancer. Through her platform, Katie fosters connections among women facing similar health hurdles, proving that shared experiences can be a vital source of strength.
The campaign aims to honor the emotional experiences of those affected by breast cancer, illustrating the profound impact of scientific research on detection, treatment, and survivorship. The KnitWell Group Fund for Prevention plays a pivotal role in facilitating this research, reinforcing the importance of collaboration between retail and healthcare sectors.
Throughout the campaign, customers will be given various opportunities to contribute through store events, online donations, and specially curated products whose proceeds will support BCRF. On October 3, KnitWell brands will unite for Pink Day, a significant initiative designed to convert awareness into action. With the potential for up to $150,000 in donations being matched at stores, this event emphasizes the communal spirit in addressing a cause that affects so many.
Furthermore, each KnitWell brand will provide unique opportunities for customers to engage with the campaign. From providing powerful storytelling to special events, customers are invited to participate in meaningful ways that resonate with their values, encouraging a culture of collective support.
Additionally, CEO Donna McKay of BCRF expressed gratitude to KnitWell Group and its communities for their longstanding partnership and commitment. Their ongoing support has significantly propelled research efforts that are transforming the landscape for those facing breast cancer.
The Sisterhood of Strength campaign will run from mid-September until October 31, creating a lasting impact during Breast Cancer Awareness Month and beyond.
Through this initiative, KnitWell Group not only seeks to fund research but also to foster a sense of solidarity, reminding society that together, we can conquer the challenges that lie ahead. The shared stories and commitment to change underscore the importance of community and collaboration in the fight against breast cancer. Learn more about participating and supporting the cause at
