Lockhouse Gallery Celebrates One Year with Cultural Event and Art Auction

Lockhouse Gallery's Anniversary Celebration

Lockhouse Gallery is excited to announce its first anniversary celebration scheduled for Saturday, August 15, from 5:00 PM to 8:30 PM. This event marks a significant milestone for the gallery, which has become a beacon of culture and creativity in Brunswick, Maryland.

The evening promises a lively atmosphere, featuring a cultural event alongside a benefit art auction. Proceeds from the auction will support beautification projects for downtown Brunswick, enhancing the charm of this historic area. Guests can look forward to a catered reception that offers delectable wine, food, and refreshments, creating a delightful atmosphere for socializing and art appreciation.

One of the highlights of the evening will be a captivating performance by the talented Brazilian musician Fabio Mendonca. Known for his exquisite skills on the acoustic guitar and his engaging vocal style, Mendonca's music blends the elegant rhythms of bossa nova with the storytelling essence that resonates with American audiences. His performance is anticipated to provide a sophisticated acoustic backdrop that complements the fine art on display and the philanthropic spirit of the event.

The anniversary auction will be a treasure trove of art, featuring a diverse selection of paintings, jewelry, and handcrafted items. Art lovers will find numerous pieces created by local talents as well as distinguished artists represented by the gallery. The auction's catalog will be available online starting August 1 at lockhousegallery.com, allowing collectors to view and bid on select items ahead of the event. More items will be continuously added to the catalog throughout the early weeks of August, offering plenty of opportunities for art enthusiasts.

Since its opening in May 2025, Lockhouse Gallery has quickly established itself as a dynamic hub within the Washington, D.C., art scene. This recognition is further emphasized by its upcoming features in the prestigious September and October 2026 issues of American Art Collector magazine. Nestled in a historic river town near the Potomac River and the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal, this gallery has become an easily accessible destination for collectors in Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C.

Lockhouse Gallery is owned and operated by Kimberly Yourick, a painter and metalsmith with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Washington University in St. Louis. The gallery represents a powerful roster of 31 artists, including many who are nationally recognized and decorated. While the spotlight is primarily on painters, the gallery also showcases talented jewelers, woodworkers, and sculptors. Notably, a significant number of these artists were mentored by Walter Bartman, one of the most influential painting instructors in the nation, whose works are also featured in the gallery.

At Lockhouse Gallery, visitors can find a wide range of artistic styles, including realism, impressionism, folk art, abstract pieces, neo-expressionism, and figurative sculpture. This diverse collection ensures that there is something for every art lover.
