Fukuoka's Exciting Initiative: The Most Wanted Class for Elementary Students

An Innovative Educational Experience in Fukuoka

Introduction

On January 18, 2026, from 1 PM to 5 PM, the highly anticipated event named 'The Most Wanted Class in Fukuoka!? - Exciting Learning Operation -' will take place at Kusagae Elementary School in Fukuoka. This unique initiative has been organized collaboratively by LX DESIGN, Fukuoka Smart City Community (FSC), and EduPorte. It invites elementary school students, their parents, and local authorities to witness the engaging public lesson that aims to merge educational and business environments.

Purpose of the Project

This initiative seeks to bring together educators and businesses in Fukuoka to co-create an engaging learning environment for students. The special class is designed to foster critical thinking and social engagement by exposing children to local aspects like transportation, finance, and communication through hands-on learning experiences. Students will even have the unique opportunity to pitch their ideas directly to local businesses.

Bridging the Gap

In recent years, a cultural and institutional divide has made it challenging for some educators to utilize external resources effectively. This project aims to bridge that gap by engaging local business and educational capacities to create a connected learning ecosystem.

Key Features

Through a mutual effort, the project focuses on three main objectives:
1. Collaborative Lesson Development: Instead of a one-sided approach, this initiative emphasizes the importance of addressing the specific needs and contexts of schools.
2. Team School Concept: The project promotes collaboration among teachers, businesses, educational committees, and community members, forming a unified team to support education.
3. A Model for Other Regions: Leveraging the strengths of FSC, LX DESIGN, and EduPorte, the project aims to serve as a scalable model for cooperative education practices across other localities.
