ClassDojo Strengthens Leadership Team with New Appointments
ClassDojo, the widely acclaimed communication and engagement platform, is making waves in the educational technology sector with the announcement of three key additions to its leadership team. This strategic move aims to bolster the company’s mission of delivering a fulfilling educational experience to children across the globe.
New Executives Join the Team
On April 29, 2025, ClassDojo revealed that it has appointed Michael Bell as Head of Enterprise Sales for ClassDojo for Districts, Jeff Buening as General Manager for the B2B division, and Chad A. Stevens, Ph.D. as the Head of K-12 Engagement. Each new executive brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success in their respective fields.
Michael Bell: Head of Enterprise Sales
Michael Bell joins ClassDojo after a robust career in educational and technology sectors. Before this role, he was the Regional Vice President of Sales at a live online learning platform, where he made significant strides in pipeline development. His previous position as Vice President of Sales at Follett School Solutions saw him leading the North American sales strategy while consistently meeting and exceeding revenue goals. Furthermore, as the former Global Head of Sales for Soundtrap for Education, Bell played a crucial role in the growth of the company's recurring revenue stream. Michael holds a master's degree in teaching from Loyola Marymount University and is known for his speaking engagements at prominent industry events such as ISTE, BETT, and ASU+GSV.
Jeff Buening: General Manager for B2B
Bringing extensive experience in media, education, and SaaS, Jeff Buening is well-equipped for his new role. His previous position as COO and board member for Outlier involved launching numerous college courses and participating in its sale to Savvas Learning Company in 2024. Buening was also among the founding executives at Brightwheel, a childcare management software provider, and has valuable experience from several years at Chegg. His MBA from Harvard Business School and summa cum laude graduation from Washington University in St. Louis are testament to his qualifications and expertise in the education sector.
Chad A. Stevens, Ph.D.: Head of K-12 Engagement
Chad Stevens brings a unique blend of advocacy and strategy to ClassDojo as the newly appointed Head of K-12 Engagement. Prior to his new role, he was CEO of TinkRworks and held the position of Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer at ParentSquare. Additionally, he contributed to the K-12 education sector as the first leader on education at Amazon Web Services (AWS). His accolades include recognitions as EdTech Chronicle's Best C-Level Officer in Education and as a Top 100 EdTech Influencer by EdTech Digest. Stevens holds multiple degrees in education, and his involvement in organizations like CoSN highlights his commitment to furthering educational technology.
A Vision for the Future
ClassDojo Co-Founder and CEO, Sam Chaudhary, expressed enthusiasm regarding these appointments. He emphasized that the depth of experience held by the new executives positions them to advance the company's mission of providing every child with an education they love. Chaudhary stated, “Michael has spent his career building and leading high-performing sales teams. Jeff built Brightwheel’s business functions from the ground up, enabling that company to serve thousands of childcare center clients around the world. Chad was recognized as EdTech Chronicle's 2023 Best C-Level Officer in Education. The repertoire of expertise and skills that these three bring to the table will massively impact our operations.”
