Envision Energy and AMEA Power Collaborate on Major Wind Project in Egypt

Envision Energy and AMEA Power Join Forces for Amunet II Project

In a significant move for the renewable energy sector, Envision Energy, a global leader in green technologies, recently announced its partnership with AMEA Power at the Africa Energy Forum (AEF) 2026. This collaboration centers on the Amunet II wind project in Egypt, which boasts an impressive capacity of 500 MW. This agreement not only enhances the renewable landscape in Egypt but increases the total wind energy portfolio in the country to a robust 1 GW.

The announcement follows the successful commissioning of AMEA Power's earlier wind project in Ras Ghareb, which also had a capacity of 500 MW. This existing facility has established itself as Africa's largest wind farm, showcasing AMEA Power's proficiency in executing large-scale renewable energy projects swiftly. With Envision Energy's technological expertise and execution capabilities, the partnership signals a strong vote of confidence in the financial viability and scalability of large renewable projects.

The Amunet II project marks AMEA Power's second venture into large-scale wind energy development in Egypt. Once operational, this project will play a pivotal role in fulfilling Egypt's renewable energy ambitions, helping the nation transition to a cleaner and more diversified energy mix.

Kane Xu, Senior Vice President at Envision Energy, commented on the strategic nature of this partnership, saying, “Our collaboration with AMEA Power has evolved into a strategic alliance rooted in trust, innovation, and long-term value creation. This project illustrates the scalability of our partnership model and highlights the importance of global collaboration in advancing energy transition efforts. Today, Egypt is increasingly pivotal in the global energy transition, and Envision is committed to leveraging its cutting-edge technologies and global execution capabilities to deliver reliable and efficient clean energy solutions in Egypt and the broader MENA region.”

Hussain Al Nowais, Chairman of AMEA Power, also expressed optimism regarding the venture, emphasizing the achievements of their previous project: “The successful implementation of our 500 MW wind project in Ras Ghareb demonstrated what can be achieved when strong partners share the same vision and commitment to execution. The Amunet II project is a new chapter in our collaboration with Envision Energy and underscores our unwavering confidence in Egypt's renewable energy sector. Together, these projects will elevate our wind portfolio in Egypt to 1 GW, contributing to the country’s energy transition while creating sustainable economic and social value.”

This partnership not only reflects a significant step forward for Egypt’s renewable energy landscape but also sets a precedent for future collaborations in the sector, demonstrating how innovative partnerships can drive sustainable development and create a greener future for all. As Envision Energy and AMEA Power move forward with Amunet II, the global community watches with anticipation for the impacts this project will have on the region's energy framework and beyond.
