Xiaomi's Innovative Automotive Factory Showcases Advanced Manufacturing in China

Xiaomi's Smart Automotive Factory in Beijing

In early November 2026, Xiaomi unveiled its intelligent automotive factory in the bustling southeastern region of Beijing, a testament to cutting-edge manufacturing technology and innovation in the automotive industry. This vibrant facility, brimming with modern robotics, enables the seamless assembly of vehicles, showcasing Xiaomi's commitment to advancing the automotive sector in China.

The factory serves as both a production base for Xiaomi and a showcase for international visitors keen on exploring intelligent manufacturing practices. As part of the agenda for the 7th Global Media Summit taking place in Beijing at the time, a group of esteemed guests from over 112 countries and regions were scheduled to tour the facility, emphasizing the global interest in Xiaomi's advancements in the automotive field.

Covering approximately 718,000 square meters, the automotive factory integrates research and development, production, sales, and customer experience related to new energy vehicles. The layout features a dedicated research and testing base, six workshops focused on manufacturing new energy vehicles, a 2.5-kilometer test track, and the Xiaomi automotive showroom. This comprehensive setup not only facilitates efficient vehicle production but also embodies the future of smart manufacturing in China.

Xiaomi's factory implements modernization through six specialized processes tailored for electric vehicle manufacturing, where over 700 industrial robots operate in harmony to enhance production efficiency. The utilization of AI-based quality inspection technologies ensures consistent vehicle quality and a level of precision that exceeds traditional human-controlled measures.

This facility stands as a representative of China's new energy vehicle industry and intelligent manufacturing, drawing significant attention both domestically and globally. It portrays the rise of a unique automotive culture in China and highlights the country's growing capabilities in automotive technology.

Moreover, Xiaomi’s commitment to sustainable development is evident in the solar panels installed on its rooftops, generating clean energy that offsets carbon emissions equivalent to what 540,000 trees would absorb in a year. This initiative aligns perfectly with contemporary trends towards environmentally friendly manufacturing.

With the introduction of its SkyNomad SUV models as the official vehicles of the summit, Xiaomi had already surpassed 800,000 vehicles delivered by the end of October, indicating a marked contribution to the modernization of the Chinese manufacturing sector. The continuous growth and adaptation of Xiaomi’s automotive arm signal a promising future not only for the company but also for the broader automotive landscape in China, as they build on innovation and sustainability.

As we watch this technology-rich factory evolve, it becomes clear that Xiaomi is not just a player in the automotive market but a pioneer setting new benchmarks for smart manufacturing and sustainable practices in an increasingly electrified future.
