Celebrating 140 Years of Tsuguharu Fujita: A Journey of Art and Faith

As the art world prepares to commemorate 140 years since the birth of the renowned artist Tsuguharu Fujita (also known as Léonard Fujita), a remarkable new publication titled 'From Tsuguharu Fujita to Léonard Fujita: A Path to Prayer' is set to release on October 3. This publication is a collaboration between the Karuizawa Ando Museum in Japan and the Reims Museum in France, both institutions that have strong ties to Fujita's legacy.

A Unique Connection Between Two Museums

Tsuguharu Fujita made a significant impact on the art scene, particularly as a prominent figure in the École de Paris. The Karuizawa Ando Museum holds the distinction of being the first private museum dedicated solely to Fujita’s work. It features a collection of over 300 pieces curated through the discerning eye of collector Yasushi Ando. In 2025, as the museum celebrates its third anniversary, it will collaborate with the Reims Museum, which boasts one of the most comprehensive collections of Fujita’s work in Europe.

This partnership culminates in the display of 44 important works, including sketches and oil paintings of the 'Madonna and Child', creating a unique opportunity for viewers to experience these masterworks side by side for the first time.

The Contents of the Book

The book will offer readers an in-depth insight into Fujita's evolution as an artist, showcasing chapters that include:
