Engaging Workshop for Families: Crafting Vegetable Crayons at Kuradashi Event

Discover Fun and Sustainability at the Vegetable Crayon Workshop

On May 4, 2025, Kuradashi, a company dedicated to reducing food waste, will host an engaging workshop at Tokyo Midtown Yaesu. Families are invited to participate in creating vegetable crayons, turning food that might have gone to waste into colorful, eco-friendly art supplies. This event is part of the YAESU BIG HOLIDAY 2025, designed to provide fun and educational experiences for children during Golden Week.

Background of the Workshop

Kuradashi has previously organized various initiatives focused on sustainability, including candle-making workshops using waste oil from the restaurants within Tokyo Midtown Yaesu. Their ongoing mission is to raise awareness about food waste and educate the public on sustainability practices. The vegetable crayon workshop aims to introduce attendees to the concept of upcycling, showing how unused vegetables can be transformed into creative tools for artistic expression.

What to Expect at the Workshop

With the cooperation of Senshu University’s Watanabe Seminar, participants will use specially sourced vegetable powders provided by Green Ace, a company known for its innovative food upcycling technologies. The formulation includes beeswax and olive oil, ensuring that the crayons are safe and environmentally friendly.

Participants will not only learn how to make these crayons but will also enjoy drawing with them, allowing kids to express their creativity while considering the impact of food waste on our planet.
