A New Era of Innovation: Stars of Science Returns
Doha, Qatar – The prestigious edutainment series,
Stars of Science, produced by the Qatar Foundation, is set to return with its 17th season on
September 12, 2025. This season promises to ignite interest in the Arab world’s next wave of innovative thinkers as they engage in technology and science-driven entrepreneurship.
For 17 successful years,
Stars of Science has played a pivotal role in shaping the landscape of innovation across the region. It serves as a platform where emerging talents can transform their groundbreaking ideas into viable solutions. As the show unfolds, audiences are invited into the heart of Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), a creative hub that merges science and entrepreneurship aimed at addressing real-world challenges.
Dynamic New Talent and Mentorship
This upcoming season introduces a range of innovative talents, alongside familiar faces from previous seasons, creating a rich tapestry of experience and vision. Khalid Aljumaily, the series’ long-standing host, continues to guide the show, with the participation of a distinguished new jury member, Dr. Bothaina Al-Mulla. As a respected OB-GYN specialist at Sidra Medicine and Hamad Medical Corporation, Dr. Al-Mulla's involvement promises to bring a fresh outlook to the judging panel, particularly with the increasing focus on biotechnology.
“In joining the jury of a show I've admired for years, I am honored to witness the remarkable talents of the contestants,” stated Dr. Al-Mulla. Her involvement underscores the growing significance of health technology in solving contemporary challenges and empowering youth, especially women, in science fields.
Nurturing Innovation through Collaboration
Each week during the 12-week competition, seven dedicated innovators from across the Arab world will embark on an intense journey of development within the show's studios at QSTP. They will have the opportunity to refine their concepts under the expert guidance of industry leaders and mentors, gaining access to invaluable resources aimed at honing their innovative skills.
As participants strive for the esteemed title of
Top Arab Innovator, they contribute to QSTP's mission of fostering a future where technology and scientific advancements have a sustained and positive impact on society. This year's contestants will tackle pressing global issues, highlighting the importance of innovative solutions in a rapidly evolving world.
Reflecting on the growth of the show, Aljumaily noted, “Over the last 17 years,
Stars of Science has continuously evolved, adapting to the needs of the moment. Season 17 stands out as contestants not only solve existing problems but redefine the intersection of science with everyday life.”
Inspiring Change through Success Stories
The show has produced several success stories, with last year’s champion, Yaman Tayyar from Syria, serving as a notable example. Tayyar created
Geno, a device designed to foster accessibility in gene therapy. Since his victory, he has transformed his project into a thriving startup known as Prorenata Biotech, now incubated at QSTP.
“Winning
Stars of Science was just the beginning for me,” Tayyar reflected. “The mentorship and support I received were crucial in turning my vision into reality.” This win underscores how the show cultivates not only ideas but also sustainable entrepreneurial ventures.
