KuCoin and Partners Launch Humanitarian Initiative to Support Women's Health in Sumatra

In a commendable effort to address pressing humanitarian needs, KuCoin has teamed up with the Global CSR Foundation and the American Medical Women's Association (AMWA) to support a vital initiative named "A Matter of Dignity" in Sumatra, Indonesia. This initiative aims to provide much-needed assistance to communities affected by recent natural disasters, particularly focusing on women's health and dignity. The program will distribute 5,000 menstrual hygiene kits, alongside essential medicines and food supplies to the afflicted areas of Aceh and Medan.

This collaborative effort is set to begin distribution in early April 2026 and aims to prioritize the communities that have suffered the most from ongoing recovery challenges after severe flooding. Aurelly Syifalia Widihartanto, the Co-Founder of Yayasan Srikandi Merah Putih, explains the objective of the campaign: "This initiative is about responding to crisis in a way that protects both life and dignity. Women are often the most affected during disasters, yet their basic health needs are the first to be overlooked. Our goal is to ensure care reaches communities not only quickly, but respectfully and responsibly."

The initiative builds upon a well-established relationship between AMWA's Global Health Lead, Dr. Padmini Murthy, and Jing Zhao Cesarone, the founder of the Global CSR Foundation. By leveraging this partnership, the initiative is positioned to effectively reach Indonesian communities and address women's health concerns following disaster hardships. Dr. Murthy, who conceptualized the Menstrual Equity Project that has been successfully implemented in countries like The Bahamas and Suriname, is excited about the potential impact the program could have in Indonesia. The project’s adaptability to local contexts is integral to ensuring its success.

Notably, KuCoin has confirmed its commitment to supporting CSR initiatives that address real needs. Sylvie Dong, the CSR Director and Global Human Resources Director, reinforced the importance of practical on-the-ground action during times of crisis: "Corporate responsibility means showing up in practical ways when communities are affected by disaster. KuCoin will continue to support CSR initiatives that address real needs and deliver meaningful help on the ground."

On-the-ground logistics for distributing medicines, food, and hygiene supplies is managed by Maha Medicare, which has been aiding communities in Medan since the onset of severe floods. The relief initiative also enjoys robust backing from various local and national figures, underscoring a unified commitment to community recovery. This collaboration includes H. Teuku Badruddin Syah, the Sultan of Aceh, who has expressed strong support for the mission. The involvement of government representatives, such as Agustina Hastarini, the spouse of Indonesia's Minister for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, highlights the initiative's scope and relevance.

Adding to the initiative's visibility, numerous Indonesian public figures, including actors and actresses like Baim Wong and Rianti Cartwright, are using their platforms to raise awareness about women’s health and the importance of dignity during humanitarian crises. Their support is invaluable in amplifying the message and reaching broader audiences about this essential cause.

The launch of the initiative was formally announced during a special press dinner titled "A Matter of Dignity," held on February 6, 2026, at Sushi Maru Hang Tuah in Jakarta. The dinner brought together influential leaders from various sectors, including healthcare, business, media, and social advocacy.

Following the distribution, the team will compile documentation, verified impact reports, and visual evidence from Aceh and Medan to provide comprehensive reports back to the media, showcasing the initiative’s effects.

As a leader in global crypto, KuCoin steers its resources towards creating meaningful impacts, proving that technological advances can translate into humanitarian benefits. Founded in 2017, KuCoin has grown rapidly to become one of the most trusted trading platforms worldwide, helping to demonstrate the potential for corporate action to drive significant societal change.

The ongoing partnership between KuCoin, the Global CSR Foundation, and Yayasan Srikandi Merah Putih showcases a powerful model of cross-sector collaboration aimed at addressing critical issues around women's health, empowerment, and community recovery in Indonesia.
