Celebrating the Sixth Annual Latinas in Aviation Global Festival

On September 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the College Park Aviation Museum will proudly host the Sixth Annual Latinas in Aviation Global Festival. This vibrant celebration takes place during Hispanic Heritage Month, recognizing the vital contributions of Latina women in various aviation careers, including pilots, engineers, and air traffic controllers.

A Community Celebration

The festival is free to the public and designed to be a family-friendly event, featuring a blend of inspiring personal stories shared through the "Latinas in Aviation" book series, bilingual activities, live music, food stalls, and, weather permitting, a fly-in event. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage directly with Latina leaders who will share their remarkable journeys, which serve as a source of inspiration and empowerment for all.

Jacqueline S. Ruiz, the CEO of Fig Factor Media, expressed her excitement about the festival, stating, "Six years ago, we began the dream of highlighting Latina contributions to this industry, and it continues to grow in interest today thanks to our authors and our partnership with College Park Aviation Museum." Each edition presents a collection of personal anecdotes from various Latina authors, each illustrating their diverse paths to successful careers in aviation. Featured authors in this volume include Dalissa Acevedo, Eileen M. Velez-Vega, and Marisol Cárcamo Guillén, among others, all sharing unique experiences and insights into the industry.
