Unveiling Innovative Research at ISM Open House 2026
The Institute of Statistical Mathematics (ISM) is set to host its annual Open House on May 22, 2026, showcasing significant advancements in research through poster presentations. Titled "From Data to Meaning, From Phenomena to Laws: Statistical Causal Inference Unlocking AI for Science," the event promises insights from both seasoned researchers and graduate students.
The Open House will be structured in three segments, each lasting 40 minutes, providing attendees the opportunity to engage with the latest findings in the field. The presentations will occur during the following times:
- - Session 1: 13:00 – 13:40
- - Session 2: 13:40 – 14:20
- - Session 3: 14:20 – 15:00
Participants are welcome to come to ISM without prior registration, and the event is completely free of charge, making it accessible to enthusiasts and professionals alike. This gathering is a unique opportunity for all ISM faculty and graduate students to converge, share insights, and foster collaborations in a vibrant academic atmosphere.
The posters, showcasing over 100 research efforts, will be on display throughout the day from 10:00 AM to 5:15 PM. Attendees will have the chance to engage directly with researchers during core presentation times, allowing for in-depth discussions and inquiries about the research presented.
In addition to the poster presentations, this year’s Open House will feature a public lecture entitled "Exploring Statistical Methods and Practices for Latent Factors." This session aims to delve into the mathematical principles and practical implications of statistical methodologies that apply to various fields, including data science and artificial intelligence.
For those unable to attend, it is noted that some researchers may have conflicts that prevent their participation. Updates and specific information regarding the titles of the posters and the detailed schedule will be available on the Open House 2026 website in mid-May. You can find more details
here, with the page expected to go live on April 9.
The atmosphere at ISM during the Open House is one punctuated by curiosity and collaboration. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and interact with presenters to gain a deeper understanding of pertinent research themes. Don’t miss out on the chance to explore how statistical causal inference is paving the way for breakthroughs in AI and science.
Whether you are a researcher, a student, or someone with a keen interest in data science, the ISM Open House 2026 is an event not to be overlooked.
