Exciting New Products from Hyakuraku: A Culinary Journey in Kansai

Discover Delicious Offerings at FamilyMart with Hyakuraku

On June 10, 2025, FamilyMart will introduce new products developed under the supervision of Masanori Masuda, the head chef of the esteemed Chinese cuisine restaurant Hyakuraku, across approximately 2,600 stores in the Kansai region. This launch includes four delicious dishes, notably the hot and sour noodle soup, marking its first appearance among the store's offerings.

Hyakuraku, a well-known name in Chinese cooking, opened its doors in 1958 in Osaka's Uehommachi. The restaurant is famous for its aromatic dishes, such as the flavorful Yurinchi (fried chicken with a savory sauce) and the delicate and satisfying Tenshinhan (omelette rice). Currently, it operates six locations across Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara. FamilyMart has been releasing products in collaboration with Hyakuraku since April 2023, and the third batch highlights a balance of spicy and sour flavors with the new hot and sour noodle soup.

The hot and sour noodle soup boasts a unique flavor profile that combines vinegar and white pepper, offering a delightful experience for the palate. The dish has been crafted to retain the crunchy texture of fresh ingredients like cucumber and ginger, appealing to those who appreciate a distinct mouthfeel in their noodles. As an additional feature, the packaging has been designed for convenience, making it easy for customers to enjoy alongside other menu items.

In response to the popularity of the fried rice riceball introduced in the previous releases, this time the recipe has been enhanced by increasing the quantity of eggs and char siu (braised pork), ensuring a more satisfying taste experience. The new product lineup also includes the highly sought-after Chinese-style bento with a selection of Hyakuraku's popular dishes, including Yurinchi and Tenshinhan, all prepared with a focus on richness and flavor.

Comments from Chef Masanori Masuda

Chef Masuda expresses his excitement for the third offering, particularly highlighting the hot and sour noodle soup, which he believes presents a perfect balance of flavors. He encourages customers to try the bento featuring the unique Yurinchi dish and reassures that the fried rice riceball and Tenshinhan have been refined for an even more flavorful experience. Chef Masuda hopes this will inspire patrons to visit Hyakuraku's locations and enjoy their culinary creations.
