Experience Sustainable Aviation Fuel at the 2025 Aviation Day Festival in Haneda Airport

Discover Sustainable Aviation Fuel at the 2025 Aviation Day Festival

The 2025 Aviation Day Festival at Haneda Airport is set to be an important event, particularly for those interested in the future of sustainable aviation. On September 27, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, visitors will have the unique opportunity to learn about Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and the steps being taken towards decarbonizing the aviation sector.

This festival is part of the "Fry to Fly Project," an initiative launched by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in August 2023. This project aims to promote the adoption of SAF by collaborating with various companies and local governments. As the first collaboration initiative since joining the project, the festival will feature numerous booths and activities aimed at raising awareness about SAF and its importance in the aviation industry.

At the festival, guests can experience a hands-on approach to understanding SAF. One of the highlights will be a state-of-the-art 3D Virtual Reality (VR) experience that illustrates the supply chain—from the collection of used cooking oil to the process that enables aircraft to fly using SAF. This immersive experience will help attendees grasp the complexities and innovations behind SAF, highlighting its role in making air travel more sustainable.

In addition to the 3D VR experience, attendees will find an exhibition featuring a variety of panels and posters related to SAF, showcasing statistics, benefits, and future goals. These educational displays serve to inform the public about the various entities involved in the production of SAF, including companies like JGC Holdings, ANA, JAL, and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

To make the experience even more interactive, the festival will include quizzes and surveys related to the exhibition, with the first 300 respondents receiving prizes through a lottery system. Not only does this encourage participation, but it also aims to gather feedback that could influence future sustainability initiatives in aviation.

This event presents a fantastic opportunity for individuals, families, and aviation enthusiasts to not only learn about SAF but to also participate in discussions about the future of air travel. The push towards decarbonization in aviation is an urgent matter, and understanding the potential of SAF is crucial for addressing climate change.

The 2025 Aviation Day Festival in Haneda Airport represents a collaborative effort to educate and engage the public on this vital issue, making it a must-attend for anyone invested in the future of aviation and environmental sustainability.
