Nathaniel Scott Appointed as Executive Director of Sunwest Bank Charitable Foundation

Nathaniel Scott Takes the Helm at Sunwest Bank Charitable Foundation

The Sunwest Bank Charitable Foundation is excited to share the news of Nathaniel Scott's recent appointment as the Executive Director. With a robust career spanning over 15 years in mission-driven leadership, Scott is set to guide the Foundation in impactful ways that resonate with its core mission.

Scott's impressive background includes extensive experience at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), where he managed complex international projects across various regions, including Latin America, Africa, and Asia. His focus has been on enhancing economic opportunities, fortifying community resilience, and creating systems to aid vulnerable populations.

During his tenure at USAID, Scott led sizable technical teams, oversaw multimillion-dollar portfolios, and constructed influential public-private partnerships that championed sustainable solutions led by local communities. His rich experience in collaborating with governments, nonprofit organizations, and community groups uniquely positions him to drive equity and improve the quality of life for marginalized communities.

In his capacity as Executive Director, Scott aims to propel Sunwest Bank Charitable Foundation's strategic vision, deepen its partnerships both domestically and globally, and expand the impact of flagship initiatives such as Hovde Homes internationally. He expressed his enthusiasm for fostering the Foundation's mission, especially in advocating for children and families in need.

"We are thrilled to welcome Nathaniel as the new Executive Director of the Sunwest Bank Charitable Foundation," stated Eric Hovde, the CEO of Sunwest Bank. "His immense experience, passion, and strategic vision will be instrumental in deepening our impact and advancing our mission. Under Nathaniel's guidance, we are confident that the Foundation will continue to empower communities and facilitate meaningful change."

Before his role at the Foundation, Scott founded Meetinghouse Consulting, where he successfully pioneered blended finance strategies that attracted early-stage impact investors, empowering local entrepreneurs in underserved areas. His prior position at USAID as the Director of the Sustainable Ecosystems and Economic Development office in Bogota, Colombia, allowed him to lead one of the largest technical offices for USAID in the region.

Scott holds a Master’s degree in Sustainable International Development from Brandeis University and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Vermont. He has also undergone professional development at esteemed institutions like the Federal Executive Institute and Springfield Centre.

Scott's vision aligns perfectly with the Foundation's ideals. He remarked, "The Sunwest Bank Charitable Foundation embodies the potential that emerges when philanthropy, business, and community unite. I am eager to collaborate with our dedicated partners to expand opportunities, address critical needs, and bolster the communities we serve, especially for children and families facing challenges."
