Scientific Games Partners with European Lotteries for Digital Innovation

Scientific Games Teams Up with LEIA for Digital Growth

In a significant move to foster digital innovation within the lottery sector across Europe, Scientific Games has entered a strategic partnership with the Lotteries Entertainment Innovation Alliance (LEIA). This collaboration involves five leading European lotteries: Danske Spil from Denmark, FDJ United from France, Norsk Tipping from Norway, Svenska Spel from Sweden, and Veikkaus Oy from Finland.

The primary goal of LEIA is to enhance digital growth while ensuring that the offerings are tailored to meet modern customer expectations, particularly focusing on engaging younger audiences in a responsible manner. Morten Eriksen, CEO of LEIA, emphasized, "Our focus on innovation has naturally led to the selection of Scientific Games as our digital partner."

The alliance aims to create a shared marketplace that promotes operational efficiency and scalability, enabling member lotteries to launch new gaming content more swiftly and at reduced costs due to shared resources. This partnership positions Scientific Games, the world's foremost developer of lottery games and services, as a key player in enhancing the digital landscape for these European lotteries.

Enhancing Game Offerings

Under a newly signed two-year agreement, Scientific Games will work closely with LEIA to deliver a variety of digital game projects aligned with the strategic directives set by the alliance. The company will provide a wealth of localized games from its extensive portfolio, which contains over 270 premier digital titles created by SG Studios. Additionally, bespoke game development tailored specifically for the diverse markets within LEIA is also part of the remit.

President of Digital for Scientific Games, Matt Lynch, highlighted the deep trust and historical collaboration between the firm and the individual lotteries in the alliance. He said, "We’re thrilled to further extend our collaboration through this strategic digital partnership with LEIA, helping these lotteries expand their reach, engage new audiences, and continue shaping the future of lottery entertainment."

As part of this agreement, LEIA will benefit from access to more than 100 licensed brands owned by Scientific Games, as well as a developing library of digital instant games sourced from partner studios via the SG Content Hub. This hub is designed to link innovative game studios with lotteries around the globe, thus enhancing the game selection available to players.

Emphasizing Innovation and Security

Scientific Games has made significant strides in the iLottery market, serving more than 30 customers worldwide and offering top-notch digital programs such as customer relationship management (CRM), loyalty initiatives, and mobile applications. The company prides itself on delivering entertainment through a comprehensive suite of retail and digital games, analytics, and technology solutions that benefit lotteries across 50 countries.

Eriksen's optimism reflects a broader commitment to ensure operational excellence. He noted that by working together, member lotteries will be more equipped to meet current demands while laying the groundwork for future growth through innovative solutions.

Notably, Lynch congratulated several game studio partners selected to participate in this collaboration, including Random State from Sweden, BWLoto EHF, and Harman Connected Services GmbH. This partnership affirms the momentum towards integrating innovative and engaging gaming experiences into the lottery framework in Europe.

In conclusion, the collaboration between Scientific Games and LEIA marks a pivotal moment for digital lottery entertainment in Europe. Through innovation and shared resources, this partnership is set to reshape how lotteries engage with players, driving growth and sustainability in an ever-evolving gaming landscape.
