New Wellness Room at Red Bank Catholic High School Enhances Mental Health Support

New Initiative for Student Wellness at Red Bank Catholic High School

On September 12, 2026, Red Bank Catholic High School (RBC) inaugurated a new Wellness Room on its Broad Street campus. This event was particularly significant as it coincided with World Suicide Prevention Day, emphasizing a collective commitment to student mental health shared by RBC and Conscientia Health. The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked a crucial step in expanding the school's wellness initiative, which is designed to address both mental and physical health needs of students.

The opening ceremony was attended by school principal Dr. Vanessa Pereira, Conscientia Health's COO Tony Onoriode, and health advocate Daniel Adighije, along with a number of enthusiastic students. The new space—referred to as the RISE Wellness Room—provides students with a calm and supportive environment for reflection and healing. It symbolizes a journey that began with a simple email, evolving into a dedicated facility where students can seek help when they need it.

Dr. Simbiat Adighije, the founder of Conscientia Health, highlighted the importance of such initiatives during her remarks. “We didn’t choose today’s date; the timing found us,” she stated. “But it's a reminder of why this work matters. Too many young people carry real struggles quietly, and this room is where a student can be seen and supported before things reach a crisis.”

The Wellness Room serves multiple functions, including providing private consultation spots, a group area for peer support, and a self-guided check-in tool that connects students with clinicians when necessary. The initiative is a part of Conscientia’s RISE program, which extends comprehensive mental health support to school communities.

In addition to the Wellness Room, the partnership between RBC and Conscientia Health includes the development of a wellness curriculum aimed at increasing awareness about mental health, resilience, and effective coping strategies. This curriculum is supported by various workshops and educational programming aimed at helping students navigate their mental wellness journey.

Nicole Wall, RBC’s Student Assistance Counselor, expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, stating, “This is about creating a culture where wellness is foundational to student success. As RBC continues to expand opportunities and strengthen student support systems, we remain committed to meeting the holistic needs of every student.”

Red Bank Catholic High School, renowned for its vibrant community and rich history, maintains a strong commitment to nurturing students academically, spiritually, and emotionally. The institution focuses on various aspects of personal growth, including wellness, athleticism, and cultural awareness.

Conscientia Health complements this approach as a telehealth provider committed to integrated care that emphasizes mental wellness. With over 20 physical locations across New Jersey, Conscientia combines in-person and virtual support in its quest to offer seamless health services. Their RISE Teen Mental Health Program specifically targets adolescents, aiming to provide robust support through personalized mental health services that aid in building resilience and coping skills.

The opening of the Wellness Room at Red Bank Catholic not only enhances the school’s commitment to student welfare but also stands as a testament to the power of partnerships dedicated to improving mental health awareness and support systems in educational settings. By addressing both immediate and long-term needs of students, RBC and Conscientia Health together create an environment where mental health is prioritized, proving crucial in the overall success and well-being of students.
