Comerica Bank and Detroit Tigers Collaborate to Boost Small Businesses in Metro Detroit

In an inspiring initiative that brings together local support and community spirit, Comerica Bank and the Detroit Tigers have teamed up to launch the 2025 Small Business of the Month program. Set to officially kick off on May 11, 2025, the program aims to highlight and uplift small businesses in the Metro Detroit area. The timing of the launch is significant, occurring right after National Small Business Week, which runs from May 4 to 10. The initiative's first honoree, Rent A Bounce, is a local company specializing in party rentals, particularly inflatables, tables, chairs, and tent services, catering to customers throughout Oakland County and some areas in Wayne and Macomb counties.

This partnership is not merely symbolic; it extends practical benefits designed to enhance the visibility and growth potential of small businesses. Each honored business will receive in-game advertising during Detroit Tigers games, showcased on Comerica Park's LED ribbon boards and scoreboard. Furthermore, they will be promoted across Comerica and Tigers’ social media platforms, creating a comprehensive marketing opportunity that can significantly boost customer engagement and brand recognition. Additionally, honored businesses gain suite access at Tigers games, providing them a unique venue to entertain clients, prospects, or employees.

Meghan Storey, Senior Vice President and Michigan Director of Small Business Banking at Comerica Bank, emphasizes the significance of small businesses in the local economy. She states, "We value small businesses and the extensive impact they have on our local economies. As we celebrate their successes and contributions to our communities, we want to further assist in their growth and reach by delivering valuable assets through our Small Business of the Month program with the Tigers at Comerica Park and on social platforms."

Beyond Rent A Bounce, several other businesses are scheduled to be honored throughout the year, including Encore Commercial Products from Farmington Hills in June, Leonardo Marble & Granite in July, and Murray's Worldwide in August, among others.

Comerica's commitment to supporting small businesses is further evidenced through its partnerships with major Detroit sports teams, which allow small business customers to leverage unique resources for greater exposure. Since 2021, the collaboration with the Tigers has been a vital part of Comerica's outreach to local entrepreneurs, alongside similar initiatives with the Detroit Lions and Detroit Pistons.

In conjunction with the Small Business of the Month program, Comerica Bank has unveiled other significant contributions. For instance, during the recent National Small Business Week, the bank announced a $250,000 donation distributed among five community organizations that focus on fostering entrepreneurship. Each organization, including TechTown Detroit and Women’s Business Enterprise Alliance, received $50,000 aimed at nurturing entrepreneurial growth and development.

With a rich history dating back to 1849, Comerica Bank has a longstanding commitment to Michigan and its communities, including being the largest bank employer in the Metro Detroit area. The bank operates one of the most extensive banking center networks in Michigan, with over 4,300 employees across the state. Comerica strives to nurture lifelong relationships with its customers built on integrity and financial prudence.

As this program unfolds, it reinforces a mutual commitment to growth, innovation, and community support, ensuring that small businesses in Metro Detroit receive the recognition and resources they deserve. The collaboration between Comerica Bank and the Detroit Tigers reflects a broader strategy to empower local businesses, contributing toward the thriving economic ecosystem in the region.
