Mazda's October Sales Report: A Notable Decline
Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) released its sales figures for October 2025, revealing that the company sold a total of
25,161 vehicles during the month. This figure marks a significant
32.6% drop in sales compared to the same month in 2024. The year-to-date sales also reflect a
1.7% decrease, with a cumulative total of
344,825 vehicles sold.
With 27 selling days accounted for in October 2025 compared to the same period last year, the company's Daily Selling Rate (DSR) has also seen a notable decline, which emphasizes the challenges facing Mazda in the current automotive environment.
Breakdown of Sales Performance
Despite the overall decline, Mazda reported encouraging results from its Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) segment, where sales totaled
6,177 vehicles for the month of October, a slight increase of
2.5% compared to October 2024. Overall CPO year-to-date figures stand at
62,700, reflecting a modest rise of
0.3%. This suggests that while new vehicle sales are declining, the demand for certified pre-owned vehicles is maintaining some strength.
Success Stories in Specific Models
Within the October 2025 results, there were noteworthy performances from specific models. The
CX-50 demonstrated impressive sales figures, marking its
second-best October record with
8,351 vehicles sold. In comparison, the
CX-5 sales totaled
8,981, which was an
11.7% decrease from the previous year, yet it remains one of Mazda’s more popular models. Overall, the company's focus on creating versatile and desirable vehicles appears to be reflected in the ongoing popularity of these models despite the overall sales downturn.
Canadian and Mexican Markets Show Growth
Mazda Canada, Inc. reported selling
6,815 vehicles in October, which is a modest
0.1% increase compared to last year. Their year-to-date sales are notably up by
