Wang Feng of Linglong Tire Advocates for Green Transition at COP30
Linglong Tire's Green Vision at COP30
On November 10, 2025, during the COP30 event in Belém, Brazil, Wang Feng, the president of Linglong Tire, delivered an impactful keynote speech at a parallel event titled "Ecological Civilization and Good Practices of China". This occasion highlighted China's ecological achievements, and Wang was invited to represent the green industrial transition of the country. Linglong Tire made a notable commitment to achieve peak carbon emissions by 2030 and attain carbon neutrality by 2050, aiming to surpass the commitments set by the Paris Agreement by a full decade.
Wang Feng outlined a clear roadmap for Linglong Tire's path to carbon neutrality, emphasizing systematic emission reductions through enhanced energy efficiency, research and development of sustainable tires, and rigorous supply chain management. The company has set an ambitious target to cut carbon emissions by 52.07% by 2035, ultimately striving for net-zero emissions by 2050. This commitment encompasses a transformative approach across five critical dimensions: new materials, technologies, processes, equipment, and energy.
One of the standout innovations from Linglong is the introduction of the world's first tire featuring 79% sustainable materials, meeting the high-performance standards of the European Union. The company plans to further boost this percentage to 85% by 2028 and aims to achieve 100% sustainable materials by 2040. Among its sustainable material innovations are bio-based materials such as rice husk ash silica and maize-based itaconate rubber, which replace traditional petroleum-derived materials and can reduce carbon emissions by up to 35%.
Regarding technological advancements, Linglong's new SPORT MASTER e tire incorporates award-winning core technologies such as the BPT (Static Pressure Technology) which optimizes pressure distribution on the ground. This not only enhances performance but also contributes to energy efficiency.
Linglong Tire is also dedicated to fostering a green ecosystem throughout its entire industrial chain. As the first tire manufacturer from mainland China to join the Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR), Linglong actively promotes transparency and compliance within its supply chain. The company's sustainable natural rubber projects certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) extend environmental stewardship into the raw material stages, ensuring sustainable management from forests all the way to finished tires.
In terms of resource recycling, Linglong operates regenerated rubber workshops and promotes the use of liquid regenerated rubber and pyrolysis carbon black, effectively tackling the environmental challenges posed by used tires and establishing a closed-loop resource cycle. Wang Feng highlighted that Linglong's dual carbon roadmap represents not just a commitment to environmental protection but also a revolution in production efficiency and value.
Looking to the future, Linglong will continue to innovate in order to provide high-quality eco-friendly tire solutions to users worldwide. The company is eager to collaborate with all stakeholders in pursuit of building a clean and beautiful world through concrete actions. Their proactive approach showcases an inspiring vision that aligns with global sustainability goals, paving the way for a greener future within the automotive industry.
