ScrubaDub and Cradles to Crayons Collaborate to Provide Shoes for Kids in Massachusetts

ScrubaDub and Cradles to Crayons Partner for a Meaningful Cause

In a heartwarming initiative, ScrubaDub Auto Wash Centers is once again partnering with Cradles to Crayons for their annual 'Clean For Kicks' campaign. This collaboration aims to provide essential footwear for children in Massachusetts living in low-income or homeless situations. For the past eight years, ScrubaDub has supported Cradles to Crayons' Spring Greening initiative, which highlights sustainability by redirecting gently used children's clothing and shoes away from landfills and into the hands of those who need them most.

From April 11 to April 28, individuals can visit any of the 20+ ScrubaDub locations to donate a pair of new or gently used kids' shoes or contribute $5, receiving a complimentary UltraShine Wax car wash in return. Furthermore, those making online donations of $10 or more will be rewarded with a FREE Express Car Wash voucher. It's worth noting that 100% of the proceeds raised during this campaign will be directed to Cradles to Crayons, demonstrating the commitment both organizations have towards supporting the community.

To create an engaging atmosphere around the campaign, ScrubaDub has planned a series of events featuring local sports team mascots. Families and customers are invited to take photos with these beloved characters and receive giveaways while supporting this important cause.

Specific events include:
  • - On Saturday, April 19:
- Worcester Railers (Trax) at ScrubaDub Shrewsbury, Route 9, from 10 AM to 12 PM.
- Portland Sea Dogs (Slugger) at ScrubaDub South Portland, ME, from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM.
- New England Free Jacks (Woodgy) at ScrubaDub Quincy, MA, from 12 PM to 2 PM.
  • - On Sunday, April 27:
- Worcester Red Sox (Smiley) at ScrubaDub Shrewsbury St., from 10 AM to 12 PM.

Kory Vagos, ScrubaDub's Marketing Manager, expressed the company's strong belief in ensuring every child has access to footwear that fits well. As a third-generation family-owned business, ScrubaDub wants to make it easy for everyone to donate shoes while encouraging the community's spring cleaning efforts. Kory remarked, “We believe every child deserves to put their best foot forward with shoes that fit! Together, we can make a lasting impact.”

Alicia Kabir, the executive director of Cradles to Crayons Massachusetts, echoed this sentiment by emphasizing the importance of recycling clothing and shoes in responsible ways. She stated, “Cradles to Crayons provides a simple, effective method to ensure donations positively impact children in our communities while furthering sustainability efforts.” The organization actively seeks to end clothing insecurity by donating over one million packages of clothing and necessities each year to families in need.

With its roots dating back to 2002, Cradles to Crayons has earned recognition for its service excellence, receiving Charity Navigator's four-star rating since 2009. Their collaboration with ScrubaDub not only highlights the necessity of community support during times of need but also promotes environmental sustainability through responsible donation practices.
