Understanding the Cost Landscape of Cloud-Based Labor Management Systems

Overview of the Survey

A recent survey conducted by Smart Camp, the company behind the SaaS comparison site "BOXIL," focused on the expenses linked to the introduction of cloud-based labor management systems. This investigation involved 384 participants who have engaged in implementing these systems. The aim was to shed light on the initial and monthly costs, as well as the variations based on company size.

Cost Expectations

Initial Costs

According to the survey's findings regarding the initial costs for implementing labor management systems, the predominant range is between ¥100,000 to ¥500,000. Specifically, 21.6% of respondents indicated that their initial costs fell within the ¥300,000 to ¥500,000 range, while 20.5% noted costs between ¥100,000 to ¥300,000. Combined, these figures suggest that nearly 42% of companies consider the initial expense range to be between ¥100,000 to ¥500,000.

Interestingly, the initial cost trends varied significantly with respect to company size. For companies with less than 29 accounts, the majority opted for a budget of ¥0 to ¥50,000, whereas companies exceeding 30 accounts saw an inclination towards costs between ¥50,000 to ¥300,000. Notably, companies with over 500 accounts reported that 52.9% experienced initial costs exceeding ¥500,000, and almost 38.8% of those with over 1,000 accounts faced costs of more than ¥1,000,000.

Monthly Costs

The survey delved into the total monthly costs associated with utilizing these systems. Results indicated that the predominant monthly range was ¥10,000 to ¥100,000 per month. Specifically, 18.2% of respondents reported monthly costs in the ¥30,000 to ¥50,000 bracket. When combined with surrounding ranges of ¥10,000 to ¥30,000 (12.9%) and ¥50,000 to ¥100,000 (13.4%), it becomes clear that 44.5% of respondents fall within the ¥10,000 to ¥100,000 monthly expense range.

Examining the figures by account size revealed that for companies with 49 accounts or fewer, nearly half are paying less than ¥10,000 each month. As account numbers increase, so do the monthly expenses, with companies over 500 accounts reporting more than half their expenditures exceeding ¥100,000 each month.

Per-User Monthly Expenses

Inquiring about the monthly costs per individual user, the survey found that most responses (21.7%) were in the ¥400 to ¥600 range. Combining this with the ¥200 to ¥400 (17.7%) and ¥600 to ¥800 (16.3%) ranges, it can be established that the typical monthly cost per user falls within ¥200 to ¥800.

Further analysis indicated that larger companies with extensive account numbers tend to incur higher per-user costs. This could be attributed to their reliance on comprehensive plans and products that encompass multiple labor-related services.
