Urgent Safety Warning: Babimoni High Chairs Linked to Serious Injury Risks
Urgent Safety Notice: Babimoni Multifunctional High Chairs
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a critical warning urging consumers to immediately cease using Babimoni Multifunctional High Chairs. This alert comes in response to alarming safety concerns associated with the product, which pose risks of serious injuries or even fatalities to infants.
Potential Hazards
The high chairs are reported to have multiple safety issues. Notably, they can tip over easily, leading to a potential fall hazard for children. The restraint systems in these high chairs are either inadequately attached or missing, the trays may disengage unexpectedly, and existing locks or latches may fail. These defects are not compliant with federal regulations governing booster seats and high chairs.
Additionally, there's a concerning risk of entrapment. The gap between the chair’s tray and the seat is sufficiently wide for an infant to become trapped, thus violating safety regulations meant to protect children.
Manufacturer Response
Despite the severity of these findings, Ningbo Yibai Children Products Co. Ltd., the manufacturer based in China, has yet to agree on an acceptable recall plan after receiving a Notice of Violation from the CPSC.
Approximately 350 units were sold on Amazon.com from March to July 2024, and they may also have been available through other third-party sellers and websites.
