Ontario International Airport (ONT) is gearing up for a bustling winter holiday season, expecting to see over 350,000 travelers pass through its terminals this year. This expected figure represents a remarkable 21.8% increase compared to the pre-pandemic holiday season, showcasing the airport's impressive rebound and growth in recent months.

The chief executive officer of the Ontario International Airport Authority, Atif Elkadi, expressed enthusiasm, stating, "We are thrilled to welcome a bustling and joyous winter holiday season at Ontario International Airport. The surge in passenger numbers is anticipated during the 18-day travel period from December 19th to January 5th, with projected traveler numbers (354,646) marking a 3.2% increase from last year as well. Airlines servicing ONT are offering over 445,000 seats, which is an increase of 2.6% compared to the previous winter. The occupancy rates are also looking promising, with almost 80% of available seats expected to be filled.

The busiest travel days are forecasted to be:
  • - Sunday, December 22: 22,822 passengers
  • - Sunday, December 29: 22,653 passengers
  • - Thursday, December 19: 22,586 passengers

To make the travel experience smoother, the airport encourages the use of discounted parking by pre-booking online for any of the five parking venues available. Lots 2 and 4, which are conveniently located across from the two terminals, alongside Lots 3, 5, and 6, also provide complimentary shuttle service to the terminals.

Additionally, travelers who do not hold TSA PreCheck® have the opportunity to expedite their registration through the CLEAR/TSA PreCheck service, which is newly available at both terminals, offering a quicker passage through security.
