ONE WORLD Project

The ONE WORLD Project is a cultural preservation and social contribution initiative, operated by the Chronos Preservation Foundation. With a focus on preserving historical buildings, promoting Japanese culture, and fostering supportive relationships, the project aims to share Japan's traditional culture with the world, while expanding educational outreach and promoting a culture of charitable donations.

Philosophy and Vision

The foundational sentiments guiding all activities are rooted in the poignant realization that culture's value lies not just in collective knowledge but in the dedication of those who maintain it. The project embodies three core concepts: "Protect," "Connect," and "Pass On." It emphasizes the interconnectedness of all people across time - the past, present, and future.

Mission: Unite the World through Culture and Charity

ONE WORLD has gained formal recognition as part of the Japan Expo 2.0 initiative by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, and it has previously hosted events at numerous important cultural sights, including the Tsukiji Hongan-ji and Asakusa Shrine, as well as Mii-dera, a UNESCO Memory of the World Heritage site. In October of the previous year, GACKT and Yoshikawa Juichi launched the project at Mii-dera, powerfully advocating for the importance of cultural heritage.

With Haneda Airport Garden chosen to continue this philosophy, the cultural baton is set to spread further afield, reaching people around the world.

OEN: Arriving Beyond Borders

The concept of OEN, or 'interchanging bonds,' depicts how cultural ties transcend borders and time. ONE WORLD aspires to create a community where bonds between persons flourish globally through culture and philanthropy. This vision not only connects individuals living today but also weaves together spirits from the past and hopes for the future.

The Donation Mechanism

Donations serve as a tangible representation of shared sentiments. Japan has traditionally struggled to cultivate a culture of giving, making it crucial to initiate this practice. Through cultural understanding and preservation activities, ONE WORLD aims to naturally widen the circle of giving as part of its mission. A portion of the proceeds gathered via ONE WORLD will be allocated to support disaster relief in Ishikawa Prefecture, specifically benefiting the local Red Cross and philanthropic organizations.

Wrapping The Earth: A Grand Vision

The concept of "Wrapping The Earth" envisions societal contributions through innovative ideas like projection mapping. It signifies a heartfelt desire to envelop the world in happiness. ONE WORLD stands at the forefront of this endeavor, aiming to evoke strong feelings and empathy through art as a means of enhancing society and nurturing the cycle of giving.

Connecting Through Culture: ONE WORLD's Journey

The journey of the ONE WORLD Project is marked by its engagement with Japan's historical and cultural landmarks, effectively passing the "cultural baton" to world heritage sites. The recently completed exhibition at Haneda Airport Garden unites renowned artists, creating a vibrant connection between the local and global communities.

Looking forward, the initiative aspires to expand to internationally recognized landmarks, marking a significant step in the cultural legacy of Japan.

The Artists Behind ONE WORLD

The support for the ONE WORLD Project transcends different domains, drawing in renowned artists and celebrities who resonate with the mission of cultural preservation.

  • - GACKT: Widely recognized in Asia for transcending music and performance art. His commitment to cultural preservation is witnessed in his powerful performances alongside Yoshikawa Juichi.
  • - Yoshikawa Juichi: Celebrated calligrapher known for his dynamic expressions. His philosophy emphasizes the living essence of calligraphy and the impact of art on culture.
  • - Jiyoung (知英): A member of the legendary girl group KARA, actively bridges cultures through her acting and featured works, alongside her initiative to promote Japanese culture globally.
  • - Nasu Daisuke: Former U23 Japan captain who now advocates social contributions through sports and culture, weaving his narrative of connection into his art.
  • - Suehira Shingo: The first Asia athlete to win Olympic and world medals in sprints, known for his contributions to societal impact and representation of Japan's cultural legacy.

Collaborating with Educational and Public Institutions

The project seeks to enhance educational efforts by collaborating with Tokyo University, bridging culture and education, and cultivating new value where academia and artistic endeavor coalesce.

The tales spun by culture begin here and now, as we dream of a day when the world unites into one.
