AGCO and SDF Strengthen Their Global Presence in Low to Mid-Power Tractors
AGCO Corporation, a global powerhouse in the manufacturing and distribution of agricultural machinery, has announced a significant new partnership with SDF, one of the leading global manufacturers in tractor production. This alliance marks a pivotal development aimed at reinforcing their collective position in the worldwide market, specifically targeting the low to mid-power tractor segment.
The collaboration centers around a supply agreement that will facilitate the production of a refreshed lineup of Massey Ferguson utility tractors, renowned within the industry. Starting in mid-2025, SDF will take the helm in crafting exclusive tractors that will cap at an impressive 85 horsepower, designed to serve diverse global markets effectively.
Luis Felli, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Massey Ferguson, emphasized the company's commitment to prioritizing farmers in this partnership. "The Farmer-First approach is integral to our mission to deliver exceptional experiences for our agricultural customers. Partnering with SDF, a company that shares our dedication to serving farmers, will enhance Massey Ferguson's competitive edge in the low to mid-power tractor segment," said Felli. This collaboration aims to provide farmers with reliable, high-quality equipment designed to boost their productivity and profitability.
The upcoming product range will come equipped with various powertrain options to cater to the needs of customers across different regions. AGCO anticipates that the updated Massey Ferguson lineup will contribute significantly to increasing market share in the category of machinery with a maximum power output of 85 horsepower.
Alessandro Maritano, Commercial Director of SDF, expressed enthusiasm over the partnership, highlighting the expected efficiency derived from SDF’s vertically integrated production system across all facilities. He noted, "This agreement showcases the value of our in-house design and manufacturing capabilities, ensuring excellence and innovation on a global scale."
Both AGCO and SDF have set ambitious goals for their new partnership, which include:
1. Enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty by leveraging the combined expertise and capacities of both companies to meet the dynamic needs of farmers.
2. Promoting profitable growth through optimal manufacturing costs, high-quality production, and economies of scale.
In alignment with this strategic initiative, Massey Ferguson's global distribution network is slated to begin rolling out the new offerings starting mid-2025, implementing a gradual approach in most regions worldwide.
