In a transformative move for Malaysia's energy sector, Höegh Evi, a prominent floating energy infrastructure provider headquartered in Norway, and Petroleum Sarawak Berhad, better known as PETROS, have signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA). This exciting partnership aims to develop the Kuching Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal, a significant component of the Kuching Low-Carbon Hub (KLCH) initiative in Sarawak. Objectives of the Project

Under the terms of the agreement, both parties will own and operate the Kuching LNG Terminal, which will feature a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) alongside critical mooring infrastructures. Furthermore, the project encompasses both subsea and onshore pipelines as well as onshore receiving facilities. The terminal’s design is expected to adapt to the evolving energy needs of Sarawak, providing an innovative and flexible solution for power generation and distribution.
