On December 18, 2025, Shigekix, a world-class breakdancing athlete, led an inspiring workshop at the Toyoake Elementary School, managed by the Japan Women's University located in Bunkyo, Tokyo. This event was a part of the school’s comprehensive career education program, which aims to equip every student with the abilities and attitudes essential for facing themselves and society throughout their lives.
The workshop was organized in collaboration with the Japan DanceSport Federation (JDSF) and was titled 'MIZUHO BLUE DREAM BREAKING LIMITS Workshop Tour.' Here, students had the unique opportunity to hear firsthand accounts from Shigekix about his journey in the competitive world of breakdancing and the importance of taking on challenges in pursuit of their dreams.
During the session, Shigekix shared insightful lessons drawn from his personal experiences, emphasizing the significance of visualizing dreams to progress forward. 'Imagining your dreams concretely is critical for taking that first step,' he advised, urging the students to articulate their aspirations clearly to those around them. This practice not only clarifies one's intentions but also solidifies the commitment to strive toward those dreams.
Following his lecture, Shigekix showcased a breaking performance alongside his sister AYANE, a fellow break dancer, which captivated the audience. The students then had the chance to learn basic breakdancing moves under their guidance. The workshop culminated in a lively dance battle, where enthusiastic students stepped forward to showcase their skills, filling the venue with excitement and joy.
Through this experience, students not only enjoyed the physical movements of breakdancing but also absorbed lessons about the importance of challenging themselves and how their passions could shape their futures. Shigekix’s positive energy and emphasis on personal growth left a lasting impact on the young audience.
