Gotham Brings Cannabis Fashion to Life at New York Fashion Week 2025

Gotham, recognized as the world's pioneering cannabis concept store, made a bold return to New York Fashion Week in 2025. This year, they partnered with esteemed designers including Collina Strada, Eckhaus Latta, and The Carpool Group to redefine how cannabis integrates into the fashion industry. In a season packed with eye-catching runway moments, Gotham aimed to shift perceptions about cannabis by showcasing its cultural relevance and connection to self-expression.

A Bold Statement on the Runway

Rachel Berks, VP of Product Development & Partnerships at Gotham, expressed the brand's mission, stating, "Gotham is synonymous with New York City—the fashion capital of the world. We carry cutting-edge designers who define NYFW, so it only makes sense to integrate cannabis into their shows." This initiative reflects the idea that both fashion and cannabis serve as mediums for identity and creativity.

The spotlight was on models consuming cannabis live on the runway, marking a daring move aimed at destigmatizing the plant and reinforcing its place in contemporary culture. As fashion continuously evolves, so does the dialogue surrounding cannabis, allowing for a creative intersection that resonates with diverse audiences.

Collaborations that Inspire

One of the highlights was the collaboration between Collina Strada and Gotham, set to take place on September 11th at 6 PM. Famous for its innovative and rebellious approach, Collina Strada showcased models actively consuming cannabis while wearing a special button-down shirt featuring a discreet vape pocket. This bespoke piece will include a vape pen from MFNY, a leading cannabis brand based in New York, emphasizing Gotham's commitment to supporting local innovators.

Hillary Taymour, the founder of Collina Strada, commented on this collaboration, noting, "Fashion has always been about pushing boundaries and reflecting the times. Partnering with Gotham allows us to challenge perceptions and naturally integrate cannabis into the runway conversation. It’s a project rooted in innovation and risk-taking, capturing the essence of how fashion and cannabis inspire creativity."

On September 13th, Eckhaus Latta also joined the effort, unveiling a co-branded joint case and lighter sheath that models used during their runway show. Preorders for these items were made available on Gotham's website immediately after the show, highlighting the synergy between fashion and cannabis.
