On March 30, 2026, the Zhongguancun Forum concluded in Beijing, showcasing a series of groundbreaking scientific and technological advancements. This annual event unveiled 21 key achievements, which included five from cutting-edge domains in global science and technology, seven from main economic sectors, four addressing national needs, and five related to public health and wellbeing. The presented breakthroughs spanned crucial areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), aerospace, integrated circuits, and healthcare. Various contributors, including national laboratories, research and development institutions, universities, central and state enterprises, along with leading tech companies, participated in the event.
Key Highlights of the Forum
One of the standout achievements featured was the high-energy photon source developed by the Institute of High Energy Physics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. This innovation marks the beginning of China's entry into the 4.0 era of synchrotron radiation sources and is currently in the trial operation phase.
