IceCure's ProSense™ Cryoablation Technology Gains Ground in Brazil After FDA Clearance

IceCure's ProSense™ Cryoablation Technology Gains Traction in Brazil

IceCure Medical, a leader in minimally invasive cryoablation technology, has announced that its ProSense™ system is experiencing a surge in commercial adoption within Brazil's interventional oncology sector. This uptick follows its recent approval from the FDA for treating early-stage, low-risk breast cancer. The growing physician interest is crucial as Brazil expands its healthcare offerings in the oncology field.

FDA Authorization Fuels Expansion

The FDA's endorsement has catalyzed significant interest among healthcare professionals and institutions in Brazil. As IceCure's CEO Eyal Shamir noted, the regulatory green light has enhanced awareness and prompted evaluations of ProSense™ as a viable treatment option for various cancers, including breast, lung, kidney, and musculoskeletal tumors.

In the wake of FDA authorization, commercial procedures utilizing this innovative technology are already underway across several medical facilities in Brazil. The ProSense™ system is designed to eliminate tumors via freezing methods, presenting an effective alternative to traditional surgical tumor removal, which typically entails longer recovery times and hospital stays.

Key Clinical Studies and Expertise

A prominent independent clinical evaluation is being spearheaded by Dr. Vanessa Sanvido, a noteworthy breast surgeon from São Paulo's HCor Hospital. This study is set to encompass 750 patients investigating cryoablation's efficacy in breast cancer treatment. Moreover, Dr. Toulsie Ramtohul from the prestigious Institut Curie in France will facilitate another critical study involving 900 patients, further validating ProSense™'s performance against established treatments in both countries.
