Texas Hill Country Community Foundation Raises $60 Million for Flood Relief

The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country has reached an extraordinary milestone in its efforts to assist communities impacted by flooding in Kerr County. The foundation recently announced it has successfully raised $60 million through its Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, which serves as a lifeline for residents facing the challenging task of rebuilding their lives and the communities affected by the devastating floods.

During a virtual press conference held on July 22, 2025, the foundation's leaders expressed heartfelt gratitude toward donors and the broader community for their overwhelming support. Austin Dickson, the Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, stated, "The outpouring of generosity and love for our community continues to astound us. Every new donation is a testament to the compassion pouring in from Texas and across the country. As our community rebuilds, this continued support will ensure that no one walks this road alone."

The foundation has already distributed $4,435,000 in grants during the second round of funding to 35 nonprofit organizations across the Texas Hill Country region. These grants focus on priority areas identified as critical for recovery and assistance. The funding has been allocated as follows:

  • - Support for Individuals and Families: $750,000
  • - Support for Local Businesses: $2 million
  • - Support for First Responders: $110,000
  • - Support for Crisis Response: $325,000
  • - Support for Community Resilience: $1.25 million

This second round of grants aims to bolster local efforts and ensure the swift distribution of funds to those in dire need. Nonprofit partners have been actively engaged in serving affected communities, and the resources will be utilized in various recovery assistance efforts.

To ensure that the voices of the community guide future funding decisions, the foundation announced plans to establish a Community Advisory Council. This council, set to be announced on July 31, will consist of local leaders and residents who will advise on long-term recovery investments and the distribution of resources.
