AMPERA Launches Global Headquarters in Florida with Vision for Clean Energy Revolution
The AMPERA team celebrated a monumental occasion on April 8, 2026, with a grand opening event for its world headquarters located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. This milestone attracted over 150 community leaders, local officials, and employees, highlighting the company's commitment to advancing clean energy technology through innovative nuclear solutions.
AMPERA's focus is on developing advanced nuclear reactor systems powered by thorium, which promises to create energy-dense and ultra-safe units. These reactors are designed to operate without needing refueling throughout their entire lifespan, representing a significant breakthrough in the energy sector. AMPERA emphasizes that these next-generation reactors are not only safe but also cost-effective.
During the opening ceremony, AMPERA Founder and CEO, Brian Matthews, shared his forward-thinking vision on how artificial intelligence and continued limitations on power supply necessitate innovative energy solutions. He remarked, "Our technology aims to effectively revolutionize the energy landscape with reliable, safe options that meet market demands. We’re committed to accelerate development timelines to bring these solutions to customers swiftly."
The company has set an ambitious goal to obtain licensing from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for their subcritical thorium reactors, in addition to entering strategic partnerships such as the one with Scorpio Tankers.
Located in the Gardens Innovation Center within PGA National Commerce Park, AMPERA's headquarters encompasses two buildings with a footprint of nearly 100,000 square feet. This space will house essential divisions including research and development, engineering, proprietary additive manufacturing, as well as administrative functions.
The event marked a significant collaboration between AMPERA and local institutions such as the PGA Corridor Association, the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce, and the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County. Kelly Smallridge, head of the Business Development Board, expressed enthusiasm about AMPERA's decision to set up its headquarters in the region, emphasizing the company's role in shaping an innovation-centric economy in Palm Beach County that aligns with future job growth and opportunity.
Noel Martinez, President, and CEO of the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce, mentioned that AMPERA's presence not only reinforces the region's reputation as a technological hub but also creates a positive ripple effect in the local economy, projecting the potential creation of hundreds of high-tech jobs. AMPERA envisions growing its workforce to approximately 2,500 employees within the next five years, aligning its growth plan closely with its operational goals.
