Tandan 1965: A New Era of Kyoto Yakiniku in Senganwa
After 60 years of excellence, Tandan has launched its new brand, 'Tandan 1965', with its first location in the Tama area, specifically at Senganwa. Located just a two-minute walk from Senganwa Station, this restaurant aims to provide a casual and enjoyable Kyoto Yakiniku experience for families and friends alike. The grand opening is set for December 9, 2025, in the newly-built 'Forest Square Senganwa'.
A Casual Twist on Traditional Yakiniku
The signature menu includes standout dishes like the 'Tandan Roast', characterized by its large ribeye cuts, and the 'Mille-Feuille Roast', which showcases three layers of meat grilled to perfection. 'Tandan 1965' presents a fresh take on Kyoto Yakiniku, appealing to a broad demographic by merging premium quality with casual dining, attracting a diverse clientele from children to seniors. The concept revolves around 'Premium × Casual' or 'Pre-Casual', inviting all to enjoy Kyoto's culinary heritage in a relaxed environment.
Inspired by the original menu from the restaurant's founding days, Tandan 1965 introduces affordable pricing while maintaining high-quality ingredients and exemplary service. The essence is to create a brand that resonates within the community, making it a favorite spot for both special occasions and everyday dining.
Community-Centric Facility
The new 'Forest Square Senganwa' is crafted under the concept of 'Co-Living', providing a space where families and individuals can easily connect and dine. This facility is designed to cater to the everyday lives of the Senganwa community, much like the existing Tandan locations in the Kansai region, where multi-generational families have enjoyed the dining experience for years.
Tandan intends to replicate this legacy in Senganwa, seamlessly integrating into the fabric of the neighborhood.
Elegant and Welcoming Ambiance
Upon entering the Tandan 1965 location, guests will be greeted with ambiance reminiscent of Kyoto, featuring an eye-catching sign and glass-enclosed dining area. The restaurant not only presents the thrill of 'special occasions' but also invites patrons to incorporate quality dining into their daily lives.
The outlet has 66 seats, including private rooms accommodating up to 14 guests—an ideal setup for family gatherings, ensuring that guests with young children can dine with peace of mind. Additionally, the establishment offers a breastfeeding room for mothers and a kid-friendly menu complete with child utensils, creating an inclusive dining atmosphere.
